Howcome Amigakit hasn't got the AmigaOne X5000 Computer for sale on there website yet? Just seems abit confusing since it was available from at least January on other Amiga websites. I sent them a support ticket on Amigakit but i haven't had a message back from them. Thanks for your help.

That's a great question. It does look like dealers have them if you need to buy one ASAP.
-
But I thought Amigakit was a dealer as well and would supply them. On A-Eon's website when you click on AmigaOne X5000 it says 'where would you like to buy it' and gives you amigakit as one of the options but when you click on the amigakit link on a-eons website it directs you to amigakit's home page but not the computer so it's a very pointless link.

Perhaps they don't wish to undermine their distribution network.
In any case, since the systems ARE available, what is the POINT to this line of questioning?
IF you're an Apple customer, do you feel obligated to buy products only from an Apple store (and if so, God, why)?

http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=43&products_id=1121
Or is it a pre-built system you want?

Thanks Rob. I was thinking the pre-built system. Any reason why they haven't got that?
-
I'm going to go with "because AmigaKit's website is written to like, 2006 web standards". I mean just look at the product pictures - they're like 100x100 thumbnails. On another thread someone specifically said they'd decided not to purchase an item (in this case it was an Indivision ECS) until they saw the much superior photos I'd posted on this forum. If my two year old camera phone takes better pictures than a "professional website" that's saying something.
Just kidding, it's like one or two guys operating the thing. I'm sure they have better uses for their time than taking product photographs or updating their site. :laughing:

Maybe because they have orders to fulfil from those customers that already expressed an interest and can't put the full systems together fast enough in amongst shipping the motherboards to the other distributors and running the day to day?

@thread
At present you are only able to buy the Cyrus motherboard which forms part of the X5000 system.
Amigakit have already posted on Amigaworld.net that the complete X5000 system will be on sale soon.
and as soon as they do, my credit card will be getting a little warm..... ;-)
