Title: Port problems with new A1200 Kickstarter case
Post by: LoadWB on April 14, 2017, 09:02:42 PM
I got my Acill-recapped 1200 installed into my transparent case, but I've run into a couple of problems.  First, the screw-hole for the back trap-door does not match up the the SCSI plate of the 1230.  Secondly, I don't have a USB port set which will fit it.

Anyone have an easy solution to the 1230 SCSI, or know where I can get a USB connect set for this case?

I don't suppose you are pals with an individual or organisation equipped with a laser cutter?

Cutting sheets of Perspex by hand is not usually very good, although in that position (back of computer) and single plate thickness with holes, should not be too big a deal.

I have no pals or friends, only people on whom I have dirt.  I am thinking about different things to do with this.  I need to put the DVI output somewhere, too, and since I use both SCSI and DVI I'm kind-of stuck right now.  For me to use both is going to require I cut the case somewhere and somehow.

Still need to find USB connectors to fit the side.

You could always use a ribbon cable and go through the main trapdoor and under the Amiga and out the back for either video or scsi.

Genius!

Or, you could hack in a Mr. Fusion dark matter sub relay with a flux capacitor! However, Paul's idea might be a little cheaper and leave a little cash left over for some brewskies! :drink:

Ugh... if I wanted a ghetto computer I'd have an Apple. ;)
