Title: Possible Ebay Blizzard 1260 Scam ?
Post by: darkage on February 09, 2017, 12:26:54 PM
If anyone is bidding on this I would be careful.   0 rated seller, with cheap international postage selling a high valued item..   seems a bit odd to me.  (either that or oddly first time Amiga user ebayer? )

@darkage

It seems risky especially being listed as 'new'! I'd ask for clarification and real photos + proof of it working. They take PayPal so technically you should be covered but I'd ask more questions first.

I think in the past Amigakit refurb'ed a few accelerators, and ppl selling them now are considering them NEW if they havent used it ?

I did just purchase a Bliz 1240 from Amibay advertised NEW and unused purchased from Amigakit years ago, but my expectation will be refurb'ed unit if that.

Edit - Ebay listing copied and pasted from original Amikit listing for Refurb - http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=161

ha!  good one!   its a scam, stay far far away.

Meanwhile I'll be back one moment,  turns to ebay to place bid,   it will be mine!  :P

Loved the feedback from -1 comment, 29 bids for a 1.25 EUR item.   maybe someone debugging their snipping script.

I did not see "-1" feedback in awhile.

I would stay away, bad feedback, no picture, copied listing info, too many red flags.

Really questionable...and he's only been an eBay member since Feb 7th of this year.

I would definitely NOT bid.

Will Paypal refund your money if you don't receive the item?

Typically, yes.

From my understanding I think paypal will only refund if they can retrieve existing funds from sellers account.   If seller has already moved funds or doesn't have a linked bank account (not sure about credit card) then no.

Both eBay and Paypal offer protection from scams.
Might take awhile to get your money back, but its not that risky.

Posted the link into the Amiga Users Ireland FB group. Be interesting to see if anyone recognises the seller.
