Simple question, which of these 2 Universal distributed zombie flicks are you most looking forward to?
(Small quicktime trailers)
Dawn of the Dead (Remake) (http://www.dawnofthedeadmovie.net/trailer/trailer.php?fileName=dawn_of_the_dead_trlr3_128k.mov)
or
Shaun of the Dead (http://www.uip.co.uk/films/shaun_of_the_dead/video/shaun_of_the_dead_low.mov)

Ugh, another remake? Well, to its credit, some of the photography looks interesting, and... uh, that's it. Which means I just saw all the best bits in the trailer. ;-)
'Shaun Of The Dead' looks like it could be a laugh, however :-D

Dawn of the Dead . . . The special effects should be better than the first.
Also - Resident Evil 2 is coming.
Shaun of the Dead ?
-
Shaun of the Dead!!! I cna't wait... I've been looking forward to this one for ages.
-
I can't wait to see "Shaun of the Dead"!

The advanatge I can see with Shaun of the Dead is that Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright are HUGE Zombie flick fans. Just watch the Spaced DVDs with the director's commentry to see how many Evil Dead references there are in the series. And the opening sequence of the 3rd Episode where Tim falls asleep while playing Resident Evil 2 show that they've been dying to make this film for ages (no pun intended )
I wonder what the American contingent think (Wasn't Red a bit of an Evil Dead fan?)

Dawn of the Dead is an absolute classic, and one of my all-time fave films.
I don't want to see a remake of it, as 99% of the time, remake = dumbed down butchering of original, removing the whole point of the film.
Lemme guess, they'll cast Samuel L Jackson, Catherine Zeta Jones and George Clooney, yeurgh!
I haven't seen the remake of The Haunting, but I love the original. I've been informed that the remake's pants...

Has there ever been a good remake?
One remake I like is 'The Fly', but I haven't seen the original so I have no idea how I would have felt about the remake, if I'd seen the original first.
What's also worrying is that they're now remaking films released just five years before I was born. I'm starting to feel old...

That's not funny! :-x
And yes, the Fly remake was better than the Original, but then the original was just a short story streched into a 50's B movie.
The Remake kept all that was good and wrote a new sotry around it.
I think there have been a few other remakes that were good too, but not good enough for me to remember them :-P

Going purely on the film trailers, I'd most like to see Shaun of the Dead.
I'm unlikely to get around to seeing either before it's shown on TV though, because I'm just not a massive movie fan.
I really liked the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy and just had to see the others after seeing the first one because it was all so well done, but bar such movie extravaganzas, I rarely go to the cinema at all.

Being one who believes in the holy trilogy(night, dawn, day) I was very worried about the Dawn remake. Having now seen it I can safely say it kicks butt!
Still of the opinion they could have called it by a different name and it would have stood on it's own.
Hope Shaun is as good as it looks though.

Well, seen it, liked it, and I want more. Way cool on the special effects. Lots of action and very few survivors. :-D
-
How about combining the two and getting...
Shawn - revenge of the bus arch zombie?
Sorry...
