Hi all,
I'm having trouble with WINUAE and a 4gb CF. The cf is 4gb Kingston.
First I cleaned the cf with diskpart.
Then I added the cf as a harddrive in WINuae.
Started the tool HDToolBox and chose define new one.
Then I click on read configuration but I am getting the error: Unit is not a disk (type 7).
I've read somewhere that you have to install a patch named HDToolBoxPatch?
For installing that patch you'll also need a tool called GPatch.
I have totally no clue on how to install these patches
Would really appreciate some help here.
Is there an easier way to do this?

Update:
I just downloaded an older version of WINuae and with this version I don't get that error????
I am really confused now.

Have you tried changing the device (SCSI_DEVICE_NAME) to uaehf.device from scsi.device in the HDToolbox tooltypes as shown above? The error you describe I believe is the type of error you get when it's pointing to a cdrom drive, or something else that's not a writable disk.
Are you using a card reader or real IDE connection?

I've never heard of nor required those patches you mention. What are they for?

Which version of HDtoolbox do you use?
You can download here a the network boot disk which contained a patched HDToolbox.

You shouldn't need any additional patches or software (besides HDtoolbox) to set up a CF card on a real Amiga. Granted, I don't know anything about WinUAE. Is the error being generated on the Amiga side or on the PC side?

None of the CF-IDE adapters I have tried has ever worked with standard unpatched HDToolBox 40.4 or lower. With OS3.9 HDToolBox however, there has never been any issues.
Here is a small tutorial that explains how to apply the HDToolBox patch: http://rhz1.com/tutorials/making_hdtoolbox_work_with_cf_cards.htm

I used an older version of WINuae and now the CF card is regonized so I can now partition the cf card and format it under WB.
I would like to prepare my 4gb CF for WHDLoad on my A500+ with the new ACA500plus, and used WB LIte.
Do some of you have any experience with this in combination with the new ACA500plus?

Nobody who can give some advice in installing WHDLoad on a A500+ with the new ACA500plus??

I think there may only be two or three people in this forum who actually own an ACA500Plus.
That being said, I can't see why installing WHDLoad on that particular hardware would be any more difficult than installing it on any other regular Amiga hardware. You don't even need an installer, really, just drag the proper executables into the proper folders (C:WHDLoad, etc.), download some games, and off you go. :)
I would think it might be even easier with this particular hardware since it includes a full installer for OS 3.1 built-in, plus direct support for reading PC-formatted CF cards. Should be a piece of cake. :hat:
