What's keeping you from bidding on it?

$51 DOLLARS?! Sheesh, I paid $2000 for a 50Mhz one in 1991!

So.... We can hope you've become smarter in the last 13 years than to spend a great deal on an Amiga, let alone a card? I know that in 1989, I personally sent over $3000 for a full (new) 3000 UX system and have learned a lot since then. :-)
Honestly, the fact is that it should cost no more than $750 USD to put together a full AmigaOne or Pegasos, INCLUDING a monitor. Anything more than that doesn't make sense to me.

that's true, i mean i don't see how people are going to get customers from outside the amiga world if they keep making original amiga maniacs pay excess amounts and discouraging any possible outsiders buying it, because they can buy a more familiar, economical, with more support PC or MAC :-(
btw has kees gone on a rampage of smilies?

I know this is opening the same old can of worms, but I honestly don't think Amiga Inc EVER had any intention of creating an Amiga desktop computer. Certainly not as we know it. They wanted the name because they thought it would open doors for them (and it did before they smeared it in the mud).
If not for Hyperion and Eyetech's admirable persistence, the idea of an Amiga desktop would have been dead long ago.
Then there's Genesi -- which I dare not speak too loudly here -- who has grand (and potentially achievable) plans, but definite problems which have popped up along the way. I still very much like the ideas being expressed by Genesi, and I think that they've got a good chance of succeeding if they can conquer some major cracks in their foundation.

Actually that was me. Sorry. I'm about done I think.

I am not sure I quite get the point here, but $51 for an
accelerator card with scsi is not bad, assuming the winning
bid does not sky-rocket due to a bidding war. If I had the
extra cash, I would try to bid on it for my 2000 just for
the SCSI controller alone.

@ billchase,
No, it's not a bad price. I have one w/16 Mb as a spare. I use an 060 now, but I remember that card was very compatable with older games. Many old games won't run on the 060, must boot into 68000. Ok card. Don't listen to stories about GVP.
