Nice little piece of hardware! I plugged in an 020 ACA I had for my 1200, and this thing screams with OS 3.1. I haven't had a chance to really test it out with regards to the different speed settings (without the ACA 1221 attached to it) or various other settings, but, wow...it boots the OS in 2 seconds with the 020 installed.

Man I ordered mine on the first day Jens offered it, how'd you get it so fast!! Mine just left customs in NY today though.

I ordered mine the same day you did :)

Hope to see it today or Sat!

I am so glad that the slower Amigas are getting massive speed boosts and decent storage options.
The design was always clever, it's just the hardware of the day wasn't. Especially with regard to floppy drives and the basic 68K.
Go Vampires! :)

where you ordered the aca plus

directly from the individual computers site store.

Yeah, these new boards are really nice. I've got the regular ACA500 and a 1221 w/ 64mb RAM hooked to my computer. Can run a fancier version of ClassicWB easily. Very fast performance out of those modest processors. Even still use a Supra 28mhz 68k in one of my A2000's - great chip!

The ACA500plus is a nice bit of kit even without an A1200 accelerator plugged in. It's completely revitalised my interest in the A500.
That said, if anyone knows of any ACA1221s for sale please let me know!

I would be very interested to know the user experience between the aca500plus with and without a 1221. Actually only with and without a budget version which is the only one available right now.
The aca500plus without an 020 feels alright. But faster is always nice

Thanks, but that's the "EC" version, which is limited to 9MB Fast; not much more than what is already on the ACA500plus. The non-EC ACA1221 has up to 63MB, if you purchase the various unlock codes for it.
I might just save up for the 1233n though, as it's marginally cheaper than the going rate for a Blizzard 1230 mk IV and is supposedly guarenteed to work with the ACA500plus.

Got mine today too!! This thing is awesome and mine will boot stable at 48Mhz!!!!
Best thing is the setup for the CF cards and WB3.1!!! Its an awesome way to set up new drives for other machines and get all the files over to it using the 2nd CF slot. They auto mound even PC formatted automatically like a floppy would.
-
What sort of speeds do you get to CF Card?

I didnt have a lot of time to mess with it, but its way faster than the CF card in my A600, even using the same card to boot both machines. I plan to do a full review of it here soon with pictures and more once I get the time. I am thinking this weekend will be the best chance I have for it.

Yes, I think PC formatted solid state very nice way to transfer stuff. This is not nearly as fast or easy on most other Amiga solid state options.
Have a nice time everybody with the new kit. Take your time writing about it Chief, I'm sur will be good reading. Let the soup cook right. :)

I couldn't get mine to function at 48mhz for some reason (after removing the ACA1221 from it, of course). I'll have to mess with it more once I have moved and have time for it.

After mine has been hanging out in NY for 6 ... YES .. 6 DAYS .. it is finally in transit to my location (I hope) :) Ordered within first couple of hours of the announcement. Ah patience is a virtue they say

I got my ACA500 Plus yesterday and my Mediator A4000Di Black 3v today :) I'll start building my "Sonnet A4000" pretty soon. The ACA500 is to be used with an A500+.
-
awesome! am still very tempted to get one of these, even as a "standby" option :)

heheh Mine didn't hang out in NY for very long, but it did sit on someone's desk at my Post Office for two days apparently because the tracking bar code would not scan. I had to go to the counter and tell them I hadn't received a pick-up notice but it had been delivered to them two days ago. Took 20 minutes to find it (could have been worse, I suppose, but still.)
For those who haven't seen it, Jens and Co. send out tracking information in a PDf which includes pictures of the shipped article. This was what finally helped locate the box.

Is it just me, or do Amiga folks seem predisposed to the kind of weirdness that requires them to take a photo of the article prior to shipping? I've sent literally thousands of packages, and receive hundreds each year as part of my job, and have never had this many issues. But lo, someone send an Amiga part, and it's got like a 900% chance of being jacked up in shipment, haha.

Hi all! After a DECADE, yes 10 years, since my last post on this forum when I sold my very troublesome A3000, I'm back in the game with a mint condition A500. Ordered my ACA500 Plus earlier this month, and i've been enjoying it for a week now. AWESOME card, very fast and my pile of Amiga games are very happy with the dozens of modes this offers. I'm one very happy Amiga user again.
