Hi All, Just saw a Youtube video, someone was running Picasso II drivers on an Indivision ECS
card. How is this possible and if so can we who own the Indivision MKII also run those
drivers?
Thanks Brad Hansen

Do you have a link to the video?

He has mistaken, those are not Picasso II drivers, they are Invision ECS drivers for Picasso 96.

Okay, Picasso 96... So how do we get it to run on the MK II card?
Thanks, Brad Hansen

AFAIK no one has written drivers to run P96 on an Indivision Mk II, yet. The AGA models are a whole different beast from the Indi ECS (and in some respects the ECS unit is the more sophisticated).
FWIW, here's some additional videos of mfilos running P96 on his A600:

And info in this thread: http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?28349-Is-it-fair-to-call-the-Indivision-a-quot-graphics-card-quot
Maybe try dropping him a line if he has any further updates or news on this? :)

mfilos is the expert here..... :)

Ahhh, Mike beat me to it! :laugh1:
but, ya.... drop Marios a line. Maybe do the translation (like I muddled thru) and get registered over at A1K.org as that bunch over there are real Amiga brainiacs! They're always coming up with something cool!

Never! Only the design of Indivision ECS allows using this driver. The first plan of Jens was to use two indivision ECS in your Amiga and get a two-Monitor setup, this was never released, but allows to use this drivers... be warned, it is realy alpha and a little bit tricky.... you should absolutely know what you are doing :D

I own three Indi ECS's and would've liked to give that a try, but I looked high and low for the drivers a few years ago and couldn't find them.
IMHO I consider this a broken promise by Jens, because the ability to stack them and use dual monitors was featured prominently in the advertising and marketing. :(

Not realy....the guy who did the driver for Picasso96 (simplex) had no time left to do the job.... he was the guy who was responsible for this project... jens never did software....

I don't disagree with what you're saying, but for example this advertisement on AmigaKit website (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=918) clearly states that the units are stackable for dual monitor support. It doesn't say anything about "pending release of a software driver that may never become available".
AFAIR something similar happened for folks who bought the AGA models of Indivision. Certain promises were made (publicly) about new & improved setup software, which never wound up becoming available.
...Not that vaporware is anything new in the Amiga market (and it really doesn't surprise me), just don't like that certain features are shown in the advertising which will never, in fact, become available. :(
...and on a similar but likewise annoying note, why are they still selling it with 1.01 firmware, when 1.10 firmware has been available for like the past four years? :p

Yea! And what about the MapROM software? Well, I see it's kind of in beta... but gee-whiz! I bought the ACA12330n 40MHz card http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1285 to use in the A1200 Reloaded http://wiki.icomp.de/wiki/Amiga_reloaded - hope that is available soon. Maybe software will be ready by then.

I know Jens is a Buzy Bee but promises are promises. :)
Sorry.... off topic again... :hammer:

100% agreed !
