I have problem of desktop space for my rather crowded office space of computers and monitors I need to make room for another (incoming X5000).
Does anybody use or know of reason that Amiga 2000 should not be utilized and stored/used vertical like tower?
I know some of you collect significantly more than I how do you keep spouse happy? :laugh1:
Thanks for inputs

No reason as long as cards are secure.
You could always get a Bomac tower conversion for it.

And there were several tower kits to put A2000 into a vertical case:

Do you know of anyone that has any of those three for sale?

Huh - 25 years old stuff. Must say under 15 years I've seen just a couple for sale.

Depends on what your setup is, towering it is the best option as you can place it below the desk and such. If you are using a monitor, as a desktop the A2000 case is great to sit the monitor on top of along with any external expansions you may have. Putting it on it's side is fine, but unless you have it on its side OFF the the top of the desk you may end up using more space.

no issue putting it on the side at all as the bloody thing is built like a bank vault!
as for keeping the 'human amiga' happy the best advice I can give you is 'selective hearing' and don't make her 'too happy' else you'll be in a world of misery later..just keep the peace and let her know you'll fight for your hobby if ya have to:roflmao::hammer:

If you've got an optical disk drive you might need to be careful about operating it on its side. Some older drives were made for either horizontal or vertical use and wouldn't work right in the other position.
-
ive seen many cases of a2000s on their side. wont be a problem as long as boards and drives are secured with screws it wont affect operation

Tell her she can buy a new pair of shoes for every Amiga you bring into the house.
-
Thanks for all the feedback.
@Oldsmobile_Mike fortunately she kicked the shoe habit. When we married she had like 60 pairs of shoes took up whole closet.
