When a piece of software asks if I wish to reboot the computer to enact changes or finish a program install on my A3000, when I press OK to reboot, Workbench shuts down and the screen goes black, but, the computer never reboots unless I press CTRL-A-A or power cycle.
After a few seconds of sitting there, the power light flashes in three or four quick blinks, then repeats this about 10 seconds later. I have left the computer sit for a few minutes to see if it will ever reboot, but, it never happens, with the flashing routine repeating itself over and over.
Is this normal, or, do I have a problem with the machine?

The Amiga doesn't have a built-in software based routine for restarting (not like Windows does, anyway). You might look at how the installer is attempting to trigger a reboot. FWIW, it can be done easily enough, plenty of small utilities out there that can do it, just there's nothing built-in, per se. See the 1:35 mark in my video, here:
