I'm shocked no one has taken me up on my free Amiga  Video Toaster 4000 offer!

 :-?

I even pay for the shipping so it is 100% FREE! All you have to do is agree to look at and work on the Amiga Video Toaster Flyer source code and show me some Amiga programs you have developed in the past.

This is a great deal will someone please take advantage of it?

Amiga developers are you on here?

More info in the Open Video Toaster forums.

Hi bill :-)

Don't be shoked, perhaps there not enought talented amiga programmers in USA ;-)

Just joking ;-)

BTW, as far as I know the VideoToaster card is NTSC ONLY :-( I don't know if it will work in a PAL Amiga as all that I have (24 ones :-)) are. Do it do?

And most importantly, even if I wanted to jump on your offer, and I REALLY would like to be able to as there is many many years I'm drooling badly for that kind of beast, I'm just beginning to learn Amiga C programming, and so I don't think I'm ready to take over that job :bigcry:

That didn't prevent me to download the vt sources BTW, for looking at how it are made ;-)

At the moment, I'm looking for a talented Amiga programmer here in France to help me too.

You can use the Amiga Video Toaster Flyer in Europe, iMagic Films and StratoVox do it. You just need standards conversion hardware.

Hoya!

@voxel

I you want to talk with a talented French Amiga programmer, just contact Jean-Francois Fabre. If his name doesn't ring a bell, well, he is responsible for many WHDload installs and he's created the proggy I can't remember the name of... The "ancestor" of WHD.
You cab find his addy at www.whdload.de
Voila.

Be funky

I'd love a video toaster, and I even tried to bif on a few on Ebay.com here and lost them all. I dont thing there are many programmers left here in the US interested or still good at Amiga. I'm sure this is why you cant give it away  under your terms.

I'm sure anyone who does or has owned an Amiga has dreamt of owning a toaster but I don't think there will be many who can satisfy your needs (so to speak).

I'm still not sure, off how much use those old sources would be today ..

Just downloaded the TPaint-sources, and found 2.6MB of sources, all
of them in 68k-asm (except a tiny arexx-thing which is in C).

Also probraly pretty much relying on old obsolte HW (the Amiga-Chipset,
and the orginal VT). I fear a port to normal GFX-cards and/or the PCI-VT, plus
the much needed conversion to C would be no less than a complete rewrite.

Well, I am a programmer, but I don't have any Amiga programs to show, I don't really have the time, and, well, I already have a Toaster 4000.

Now, if you wanted to provide a VT3 instead...  :-o  :-D

I'd take you up on that offer, except I'm not much of a coder... But if you send it to me anyway, I'll send you a video produced with the aid of a VT back in '94 :D

What kind of video are you talking about?

Garage band from high school. I worked at a local access TV station and brought the guys in to do some videos for their songs. The station used A2000s with VT. I used it for CG titles on the songs, as well as intro/end credits with background images and MOD into/endthemes. I did a sports talkshow with a couple local radio personalities too, but I don't have any of the videos from that, unfortunately.

Those days got me into the Amiga originally, and I've been dying to get my hands on a VT for my A4000... Alas, I lack sufficient funds to buy one. It's been a decade since I've used one, and it'd go great with my SVHS camcorder  :-D

*edit* I'd also be more than willing to test out anything developed via OpenVT.

Bill, I would like to work on the Toaster Flyer code but am relatively new to programming.  It might be helpful to organize groups of new programmers around one or two old hands and pick particular projects.  That way ppl like me could learn programming while improving the software we actually use.  Having someone who really understands programming, the Amiga, and the Flyer that I could talk with regularily would go a long way to helping me get started.
One project might be to upgrade the ability to create an audio track from a video file an hour or more in length.  Right now I know I am limited to files less than this in length.  However, an additional area that needs work would be Aussie's programs.  If you could get him to get you the source for Mulitcam it might be possible to get the preview monitor finally working, etc.  Shortcuts also seems stumped by my 160 gb hard drives (IDE with SCSI converters) whereas it worked fine with my old 18gb SCSI drives. Just some thoughts.  Jule

Very good points Jule, thank you. I have someone trying to get a hold of Aussie for me and maybe I will see him @ NAB 2004.
