Post by: Drummerboy on October 29, 2016, 04:27:30 AM
Hello,

I used frencuently check my email account (Gmail), from my Amiga, using Ibrowse, but maybe two months ago, i can“t enter to Gmail, showing a message saying something about SSL protocol alert.

Someone here are happening the same?

Any way to fix?.

Regards.

The website is not accepting connections from SSLv3 clients, nor almost all of the overlapping TLSv1 ciphers.

This (http://www.ibrowse-dev.net/news.php?id=1455900472) worked for me a few weeks ago, but I haven't tried Gmail on IBrowse since then. Make sure Javascript is disabled.

Bizarrely, in my case, its OWB/Odyssey that can't handle Gmail anymore...

I'm surprised it worked at all, it's sad after all these years a functioning web browser still eludes us.

"This issue will be properly addressed in IBrowse 2.5 and a new version of AmiSSL."

That means the first new IBrowse version since 2006 is coming?

I also thought it was over, because my previous trials were unsuccessful.

But just tried again and it worked, both with Ibrowse and Odyssey.
What I did this time was just:
1) delete cookies
2) turn javascript off

And it worked like a charm.

NB:
My AMISSL is configured with tls1 only.

Eventually, I suppose. For years, the team has been saying they want to release a v2.5, but I have no idea in which decade that might happen.
