That's so cool.
I swear one of these days I'm going to check in and someone will have created a clockport video card or parallel port connector for the Oculus or something. :)

No TRIM support right?
-
This will only be as fast as the IDE port = not any faster than a CF to IDE & no Trim support or Leveling if I am not mistaken.
-
I just got it for myself... week ago :). Much better idea then CF memory, since it is REAL SSD... we will never use its speed but mSATA SSD are super cheap for it size comparing CF memory.

Why would you care about it? I just got 32Gb SSD like this and you know how long it will take me to use it?
TRIM only helps when you to get maximum speed from SSD, in Amiga environment you can get about 1Mb/s or 8Mb/s (I've never seen faster... in my own eyes). So, who cares SSD will have to delete AND write info on this SDD at the same time.
BTW. I was using mSATA SSD with my iBookG4 for about 2 years (much, much more data written/deleted) and I did not noticed any speed deterioration. I would not worry about TRIM for Amiga :)

A good point. SSD's will slow if not managed correctly but will never get slow enough to be slower than the IDE. Not even close

From what I am reading it's probably better not to have TRIM in case you need to do data recovery. It will get a bit cluttered though.
As stated though it's tough to see the benefit if it can never be faster than a CF.

Cheaper and more popular. Today CF cards getting quite expensive and not very popular (kind of...). On the other hand, who needs more for Amiga then 8Gb ;)

Store audio perhaps? I have 100 GB of flac audio. Other people may store video, or photos, or cd iso images. :)
I trust my Amiga with data 100 times more than my Windows and Linux machines. One thing is certain, Amiga OS never ever needs re-installing once it's on. Wish I could say the same for other OS's.

Big thanks to Acill for providing links to US eBay products over at EAB! :)

BTW, the mSata USB adapter is extremely useful for transferring personal user data from a dead windows machine's hard drive!!!

...but then you can use 1TB regular HDD for storage... :) BTW. What is maximum HDD size Amiga can use?

Don't care about trim; but I really think the same. How much faster is the SSD compared with a good CF or even a DOM?. Probably not that much and is bulkier than a DOM...
Anyhow, it's cheaper than a big CF so it's still a great setup if you want GBs.
