The other day I went to turn on my 1084S and there was no pop, no static from the CRT, nothing happened but the power light went on. No static on the screen to touch. So the tube is not getting power. What's the likelihood a non-TV repair man can fix this?
Or should I replace?

From what you describe, i would guess its either the flyback xformer has died, or the psu has given up. Both could be fixed by a moderately experienced person who can read a schematic, but the flybacks are a bit hard to get. cracked/cold solder joints on the flyback is common also.
Just remember there is high voltage at the flyback that can kill you. It needs to be discharged before being worked on. Maybe someone else has more advice for you.
