Title: PCMCIA SCSI card?
Post by: JamesG on June 10, 2016, 03:54:17 AM
Since I know I will wait forever to find a Squirrel SCSI...anyone know if standard PCMCIA SCSI cards might work? Special driver needed?

I have a floptical drive I would love to get working with the Amiga.

It would need a driver. If you can find a card that uses the same chip as the Squirrel maybe its driver could work...

I see them on eBay quite a bit, albeit a bit pricey like £60 +.

Just got me thinking that a Whippet could be upgraded to a Surf Squirrel if you could get the necessary chips and new the pin-out for the SCSI connector.

Unfortunately there aren't any photos with sufficient detail to identify the missing components.  I have fired off an email to Hi-Soft on the off chance that they have the schematics filed away in a cabinet somewhere.

It does at least seem that it's possible to buy the AM53CF96KC
