Couldn't find an appropriate or older thread referencing the new DOTC release, but wanted to forward a bit of the latest update:
..."So there was one question about how we seal the boxes. One thing i underestimated a little bit the interest about sealing the boxes because i am a collector, but more in using this stuff. So i checked the possibilities to seal the boxes. First was to shrinkwrap them. The issue here is that the Box and the Content comes from different producers so i can´t shrinkwrap them there. I also could use a shrinkwrap-machines for home offices but i don´t think the quality will be so good after i read several manuals and articles about it. Also it would also another expansion of the shipping and i really want to ship this asap. So i will tomorrow order 1000 Cinemaware-Seals to seal the boxes. I think this should be a solution for collectors of sealed boxes and also for collectors who wanna play".
"You all could do me a favor. Some of the receipts don´t get this update so it would be great if you could copy this info into communities that you are active. Also replies will take a bit longer, i will take some days off till the packing and shipping process starts in the next week. When i am back, i will also write a bigger update regarding "Wings - Remastered Edition for Amiga".
Greetings
Sven"

Shrink-wrapped or not, would just like the release already. :)
-
I wish they'd at least come out and say why the shipping date keeps getting pushed back...
-
Sven has explained why the excruciatingly long delay month after month. Sometimes twice a month to let us know what went wrong *this* time. Received a message from him today in fact... and all orders have been shipped!
Give it another month or two and HOPEFULLY a non-crushed box from Germany will finally show.
-
Look what finally arrived the other day and in good shape! Ordered 12/24/15, arrived 10/14/16.
Lots of goodies included, one is a 'thank you' letter signed by Sven. A few postcards, vinyl pixelated sticker, 12x17 foldout poster, manual, advertising and supplement. Have my CD32 packed away right now, but can't wait to see what the new opening sequence is like. In the meantime, will be framing and hanging the poster. :)
Anyone else receive theirs yet?

It's up here and they've added Wings and It Came From The Desert T-shirts since I last visited the site. Not sure if Rocket Ranger was already on there before.
-
It Came From the Desert is one I would want. Great old movie!

Please forgive me for this, but back in the day a friend of mine would always tell me they should do a porn version of this game and call it "It Came In The Desert".
Ever since then I can't look at this game without thinking of that. Sadly, it still makes me laugh.
Sorry...

Lol, doesn't quite fit the story-line of "Them" but sounds funny.

I can beat that...
'It Came In The Dessert'.
If that's a little unpalatable for some of you, just remember:
'From The Desert It Came'.

Got mine! Arrived in Adelaide Australia late last week.
Well packed and in great condition. Just need to break the seal and get inside.
-
I understand why but still think it's sad they didn't keep the popcorn box of the original... that box is one of the coolest in my collection.

I paid for this over a year ago and it still never shipped. My order shows as on hold since Nov 2016. I wouldn't trust this guy any longer. Same story with the Wings pre-release. I never heard anything more and too late to get money back now.

Not good. :(
Did you write to them (Sven) and explain the situation? Bet or hope it was just some kind of mixup, but now I see DotC is "out of stock". ugh Hopefully can get your money back at least.

Same boat, here. Last update I have from Cinemaware, November 28, 2017:
Hey Guys,
sorry for this bigger update right now. First a short note about the actual shipping delay. It was planned to ship all the pre-ordered versions of Rocket Ranger and Wings RE (Amiga) the week after the Amiga32-Event in Neuss. The weeks before where very tough finising all the boxes and gimmicks for the releases. After the Event we´ve planned to transfer the shop and all the stuff direct to the new distributor. Sadly i got very sick for around two weeks and i´ve had again issues with the old database to transfer. But this is solved now. So here detailed infos for your shipping:
It was planned that the shipping starts now from the new distributor.
Wings RE (Amiga):
On Amiga32 we hand out the Boxes to pre-order customers and new ones. We informed everyone that this still will get some updates and also runs with an autoupdater. Sadly this was an earlier version with only the MorphOS-Version and Missing AROS and AmigaOS. Daniel is working right now on some updates, after the test (within the next days) i will get this version put it on the disc and make the shipping ready. I will keep you informed when this starts, but i expect this around next week.
Rocket Ranger - Extended Collector´s Edition:
These will be shipped starting this week. If you ordered WingsRE and RR i will ship you RR first on my cost so you got this one first.
Defender of the Crown - Extended Collector´s Edition:
Is sold out now. If you got here an open order it will be shipped with the Rocket Ranger batch. If you wrote me a mail within the last two weeks, i will reply you in the next days.
Login to shop:
We try to transfer the database to the new shop at this weekend, hopefully after this you can login there with your old account. I will keep you informed about that.
Thanks again for your patience.
Sven

I had been in contact with Sven Voessing. I just emailed him, again, told him the grumbling is rumbling again at AO. We'll see if he responds.
-
In August of 2017 I ordered Defender and Wings. Then realized I accidentally placed a duplicate order. I sent an email asking to cancel one of the orders. Within a week, Sven replied and said he would. Months went by, and nothing happened. The orders showed as being 'On Hold'. Tried contacting him again. No response. Finally submitted a complaint with Paypal, and their process includes sending additional emails through them to Cinemaware. With no response from the company, they refunded the money. What I find particularly frustrating is that their website still takes orders as if all is well. I didn't realize till today that some of you have been waiting for over a year. : (
-
I had same problems with that guy Sven.
I ordered and paid the game at the end of 2016.
I sent him dozen of mails. He kept giving excuses like darabase crashes, promised week after week shipments.
Never got the game, never got a refund. This cinemaware retro is a fraud. And that guy Sven a pathetic thief. Stay away from him.

@sanivox on twitter.. he might respond there :-)

I was one of the kickstarter backers for Rocket Ranger Reloaded. When they saw that they couldn't make that game they issued refunds. I don't know if everyone got theirs but I got mine and put it toward DotC. I got DotC about the same time as the other posters, in 2016.
I did put in an order for Wings last November.
