Just solder over a small bridge? There are also pens with conducting ink you could try.

I've had good luck with this approach. I used a CAIG CircuitWriter pen to repair the membrane from a Sun keyboard a while back.

Now that I look through my toolbox, this is what I used on the membrane: http://www.bareconductive.com/shop/electric-paint-10ml/ (http://www.bareconductive.com/shop/electric-paint-10ml/). I don't remember what I used the CircuitWriter for, but they're more or less equivalent.
The trace that runs out to the pad is a copper strip with a protective covering (conformal coating) that makes it appear light green. Carefully scrape back the covering on either side of the break to reveal the copper, then draw a line with the pen or paint to connect the copper on either side. You probably don't need to remove too much of the coating. I'd try 1-2mm on either side of the break.
(In the Sun keyboard, the trace was made of exposed carbon or something similar that got washed out by a spilled drink. It was just a matter of painting over the trace, no scraping was necessary.)

Thanks!

How did this turn out? I just found my ESC key has a break in pretty much the exact same area and now I need to attempt to repair... worried I might make it worse trying to scrape the green covering away.

I'd bet I could fix that for you guys if in the USA. I would charge for this, just the cost to return ship is all. If you can solder well, a SHARP NEW hobby knife blade with a light touch will get the greet off and expose the trace. You need to use very low melting point solder too.

go to car store and buy 'rear window defogger repair kit'.

Just use MeMacs - in command mode the function keys produce regular characters, so they can be tested.
