Title: A600 Pcmcia compact Flash Access distorts video colour
Post by: Doppie1200 on April 10, 2016, 06:11:05 PM
Hi,

Maybe someone else knows this problem. My A600 is hooked up to a monitor using the composite video output. Every time I access the pcmcia compact flash the video color is disturbed.

Is this normal? If not, what can be done to remedy this?

Thanks.

I've heard of this before. PSU? Caps? Someone'll know...

I've been doing some googling. It seems some A600's and A1200's suffer from this. I have not found a fix that is sure to work. A combination of PSU and some capacitors seem to be the problem.

This document seem to address the problem om A1200's http://aminet.net/package/docs/hard/flickfix

It looks as if RGB does not exhibit the problem so I think I'll let it be.

Should someone know how to fix this with a 100% chance of success I'm still interested :)

My vote goes to leaky caps. Seems that power line is not stable enough when PCMCIA is active.
