I'm resetting up OS 3.9 on my 3000 w/060-50 and 4MB Cybergraphx 64. I've downloaded the Powericons patch, added it to my startup-sequence. Have MUI setup, have downloaded the latest icon.library. I downloaded Ken's Icons 4.x and IconEdit.
Now the problem.. I'm just trying to merely change icons on.. well anything.
Ken's PNG icons display properly but when I try to change an icon.. any icon.. it won't change to the new one. Regarldess if I copy/paste it from the information on the icon I want to copy, using IconEdit...etc
I know I'm missing something stupidly obvious... anyone?

With 3.9 you should be able to just drag & drop icons to change them. You don't need any patches or anything, although the latest Peter K. icon.library does greatly improve rendering speed.

I always used copyicon44.lha

Right...so both of you confirmed what I was already doing.
When I drag a Ken's icon into icon copy, it shows 'PNG' and then doesn't appear in the window. If I drag any other icon into there, it works fine. So either it doesn't like the PNG, or there's something about these icons that it doesn't like, though I'm not sure what it is.

What version of Ken's? He's released many packs over the years, I think I have about six different ones on my A2K, although only the latest ones are the same visual style (4.x). I think over the years I've downloaded just about every icon collection on Aminet. ;)
If you're not sure if it's that particular set of icons, try downloading something else?
Like I said, I don't use a tool, I just right-click and get Information, then drag & drop the new icon image right on top of the old image, to change it. Should work fine assuming you have 3.9 and at least a couple of the Boing Bag updates, Peter K. icon.library, etc...
