Title: xsurf atapi.device?
Post by: icbrkr on March 19, 2016, 02:20:32 AM
I'm setting up an Amiga 3000 with an Xsurf 3 and unfortunately am starting from scratch.  I was looking for the atapi.device that was used for the IDE port on the card so I can hook up an IDE drive that has all my Amiga stuff on it.  Jens' website has the driver to throw into the expansion folder to enable the ports, but the driver itself seems to be missing... or am I doing it wrong?  It's been awhile.

Nope, you've got it right. The system will pick up the driver from SYS:Expansion during bootup and create xsurf_atapi.device in memory.

Okay, that works.  It's been so long since I set a system up from scratch I didn't remember how all this worked.

Thanks!

Wow, this must be the first time I have heard of "modern" hardware that requires using binddrivers/expansion folder! :)
