Title: Installation disks for Vortex System 2000
Post by: amigafeeling on February 21, 2016, 01:20:19 PM
Hi,

I'm looking for images of the installation disks for the Vortex System 2000 board.

I didn't find them on the net.

The System2000.dms archive on amiga.resource.cx is unfortunatly not the right disk :

http://amiga.resource.cx/search.pl?product=system+2000

Thanks for your help !

The disk on amiga.resource.cx seems to be broken, in that some datestamps are from 1995, and the s/startup-sequence file is empty.

amigafeeling: If you have a Vortex unit, would you be able to dump the data in its ROM? You can do that just by running a program on your Amiga, no need to remove the chip or anything.

Just a note that WinUAE now (mostly) emulates the Vortex System 2000. I was able to format/install using System2000.dms.

You first need to run lformat. Then run part to define your partitions. Then you can format them and copy WB etc. to the boot partition. I couldn't get vinstall to do anything in emulation, other than print random garbage characters then crash. :(
