RIP Dave Needle. Thanks for everything.

Very sad to hear this. It was a great honor to meet and speak briefly to Dave Needle at the anniversary show in California last summer, as well as to photograph him and hear his stories at the event.

Sad news. Thank you for your significant contribution to The creation of my favourite computer Dave. RIP.

I met him briefly at Amiga30 in Neuss. He was energetic and funny. I wish I had talked to him.
This is sad news. Anyone knows what the cause was?

Very sad to hear. I met him at the 30th anniversary event in California and he seemed so moved by the passion of everyone there. May he find peace at the Great Workbench in the Sky.

RIP :( Dave Needle. Thanks for your contributions to one of my earliest and best computing experiences!

He lives on in the pioneering technology that became Amiga. Years ahead of their time and so too the Amiga Personal Computer. May we all keep the "Personal" in the Amiga as the future moves forward. Just as Dave and all of them did.
My sympathy extends to his Family and Friends.
Cheers!!!

R.I.P. Mr. Needle!
-
RIP - My most sincere condolences to his family and friends.

R.i.p.

RIP Dave.

RIP Dave
and know .. it can happen anytime, to any of us so enjoy stuff while you can down here ... before you go off and enjoy stuff elsewhere .. as stardust or whatever :)

sad news indeed especially as he looked so happy at the Amiga30 shows ..RIP

Dave visited our Nostalgic Computers exhibit at the San Mateo Maker Faire 2015 last May. He introduced himself and appreciated the Amiga 3000 we had on display. Then he asked me if I was going to the Amiga 30th in Amsterdam. I replied that the event had sold out. He said that he would look into the problem, and his daughter who was accompanying him also reassured me that they would work something out. A few weeks later, a new round of tickets was released, and I was able to get to the event.
I saw Dave again at the Amiga 30th in Mountain View, California. It was fun to videotape Dave for posterity. Dave was having a great time. He was in his element... he was with Amigas and Amigans.
Rest in peace, Dave,
Robert Bernardo

Some less known infos about Dave below. It'll be great if Amiwest organizers do something "special" about Dave for the next Amiwest. RJ speaking about their work and about the man?

Not to forget the Lynx and 3DO; he was involved with not just one good machine but three.
-
I'm very sorry to hear that Dave has passed. What a shame...
When I was watching the Amiga 30th videos I thought there might be something wrong with Dave because in one of the videos RJ makes a quick comment about Dave going through some tough times.
Did anybody else catch that? I don't remember which video it was but I know it was RJ talking about Dave and looking at him.
-P
PS: I don't know if anybody has posted this but here is a great article on Dave which give you a glimpse into how skilled he really was: http://allincolorforaquarter.blogspot.com/2013/07/dave-needle-and-jerry-lawon-two-early.html

we keep losing all the folks that made our love of amiga possible, god speed dave.
-
I am deeply honored that I got to see him in person, hear his stories, see him and RJ cavort on stage an regale us with tales of old, and converse with him briefly. As emotional of an experience attending Amiga 30 was for me, I find myself feeling equally emotional at hearing of his passing.
Thank you, Dave. Your goal of changing the world indeed changed mine, and I'll never forget your answer to my question: "It's been THIRTY YEARS!" :)

I got everyone I could to sign my A1000 lid... if I had just remembered to bring my Lynx with me... UGH.
-
RIP, Dave. My condolences to his family and friends and all Amigans.
-
R.I.P Dave, you started some thing very very big. And its still going.
