So I have 2 Trumpcard 500's and both say "This Device is not connected" when I boot off of version 1.3G of Trumpcard utilities. I've even tried 2.0? I think..or a later version. Same thing. The A500 has 2.04 ROMS. TC 500 is set to 1.2 kickstart, but changing to 1.3 didnt solve anything. Surely these two cant be bad? Very clean board inside also. Drive spins up and stays spinning.

set the trumpcard for 1.3 ,this is needed to autoboot. use 1.3 rom or up, preferrably 3.1. try hdtoolbox on it with the scsi device set correctly to the trumpcard device. i cant recall the name of it. if you can see the drive all is well. I have had the eprom go bad on mine so it may be what happened.
another test is have it all connected and jumper set to 1.3 and run sysinfo from floppy. look in devices and you should see the trumpcard device in the list,if not the eproms prob. gone.

so if the eprom is gone, then there's no way to get eproms I take it? Anyone have an image or can burn one for me?

verify the problem as i listed above to be sure its that, if so let me know and i can prob. burn you a eprom replacement.

Interesting that the roms are gone, did you look as snoopdos or sysinfo to see if the scsi device is active???
With sysinfo You should see both the trumpcard under boards and probably the trumpcard device name in the device list.
I think the trumpcard devs name is IVS_SCSIpro.device
Also I like to use gvp's v2.0 expertprep tool rather that IVS' or even hdtoolbox
The args would be:
expertprep IVS_SCSIpro.device

I havent had a chance to mess with it. I'll run sysinfo and see if it sees it.

Read manual. Trumpcard disables itself if booted from floppy

good advice there.. Also its RDB compatible so that is why i suggested using hdtoolbox, the original software is pretty rough and picky with drives(unless maybe you manually set numbers).

Regardless whether its disabled or not when booted off of a floppy, point is, when booting from the Trumpcard software which I was doing, it should find the Trumpcard 500 and it doesnt.
I'll try hdtoolbox next and I'll copy over ivs_scsi whatever its called..it pops up when I run the software and I *think* I saw it in Devs: or somewhere when I manually copied it over. I dont have any manual either. I did find the TrumpCard 500 AT manual though and read thru it.

the ivs scsi device is loaded by rom into mem as long as its set for 1.3 autoboot. that is why we want you to load sysinfo or some such and look under devices to see if the rom loaded the trumpcards scsi.device.
there is no need to copy it off disk or do anything but edit the hdtoolbox icon info to the trumpcardscsi device name and run it.
hopefully some previous owner hasnt tried to hook a incorrect wired psu to it and fried them ;/ i have seen this alot on a590's and other side cars.
