And a BIG thankyou for Odin, now I ain't getting these ABBA tunes outta my head
How about another tune :-D
Maar geloof me nou
Ik hou alleen van jou.
And I dunno the rest
:roflmao: :smack:

Tyskarna från Lund ("the Germans from Lund") - the parody that's better than a lot of "real" bands. :)
That goes for a lot of parodies. At least one can feel that it's done with love and affection for the genre.

/me pops Machine Head's Burn My Eyes and deafens everyone

/Puts on Death Certificate, by Carcass, cranks it right up
I used to be an out and out metalhead, but that all changed when I got a job in a record shop when I was a teenager. I had been a good customer of the shop, and the boss knew me well, so he explained on the first day that I couldn't put Sepultura on the music system cos it would frighten customers away.
So, I started to find other things to put on, things that I had wondered about in the past, or perhaps heard some of, and wanted to hear more. IIRC, the first bands I got into were Joy Division, Pink Floyd, The Beatles and The Small Faces....
This also coincided with me getting into smoking dope (hell, all of my mates did it back in 1995) - and I tell you, you don't always listen to death metal when you're caned!
I still like metal, but listen to it rarely, and when I do, its the real classics.
I used to listen to stuff like Napalm Death, Carcass, Obituary, At The Gates, Slayer, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Machine Head, Entombed, even Deicide....
/Puts on Sepultura's 'Arise' LP :-D

Used to have a bunch of synths, but after I got a 3Ghz Laptop, I sold most of them. As I can now buy softsynths to do most of it, and teh modular softsnths have totally stolen my heart :-)
I kept my beloved Roland W-30, and one of my Ensonics, and a couple of Casio Midi controler keyboards.
Also a few other bits and bob.

Nice! I'm thinking of getting the Native Insturments Prophet 5 softsynth, the name of which eludes me at the moment. I'd love to get my hands on a genuine analog synth someday. My baby is a microKORG synth and I also have an old 2-operator yamaha fm synth that works great for making sega genesis sounding music lol

I used to have a DX9 (it might have beena DX7) and an FM tone generator rack mount synth... but I got rid of them really early on, as they sucked for doing anything other an FM Bells :-D ;-)
I used to have an MS20 (but it died so I sold it to a colect who restored it), and a couple of other analogues... just old ones, but they had noise problems, a lot of hum and buzz which required lots of cleaning up, and those analogues always drift out of tune :-(
Now I can run everying one one laptop all at the same time, all in one place, all can be loaded at the click of a button... life is much easier now than it used to be :-)
Also if, I need mroe than one of a particular synth, I just open it up more than once :-)

Oh yeah?
What bands are you into? Do you listen to Mineral?

You'll be safe for a time. Then a truly surreal song will get stuck in your head like some egg laying parasite.
And that song will be "Like Vibert - I hear the drummer"
You are too far gone to be helped at this point. How do I know? Because it happened to me....

Bah, metalheads are all wussies. Real men listen to noise!

Nope,
Wussies listen to The Darkness, then go down the pub wearing an imitation leather jacket and tell all their mates that they`re metalheads.. :pissed:
I`m still having therapy after being forced to see The Darkess when they supported Whitesnake last year :insane:
Whatever happened to the days when Britain produced decent rock bands ?

Dude. We still do, it's just that no f**ker listens to them.
-
The trouble is the friggin radio stations relegate rock and metal to a tiny, once a week slot at half past very late O`clock.
And for the rest of the time, they go and play the same 10 over commercialised and over hyped songs over and over and over all day long.
And they wonder why CD sales decline?? How the chuff are we supposed to buy things we don`t even know exist.
Mind you, I gave up buying CD`s in the UK anyway, and got them from MetalMerchant.com in Germany. I can`t praise them enough, and as an added bonus, they send a sampler CD with tracks from new bands.
Ooh, reminds me, I gotta go see if they`ve got the new Doro DVD (stop sniggering..I can hear ya)
Anyway, it`s `kin late, I`m off to bed to dream of 101 ways to assasinate The Darkness
-
Uh...yeah. Metal. :-D
It's all good. I can't listen to music right now, since I can't play the CD, as I have lost it, but I'd wouldn't mind hearing some Anthrax.
-

Hehe hey! The Darkness are entertaining! They're no Slayer, but hey do you have any idea the CRAP they put on the radio over here? I'd rather have my testicles removed with a rusty butter knife than to listen to the CRAP passed off as rock on the Radio. Metal? Pffft, there has never been metal on the radio here. Even headbangers ball on MTV 2 seems to be 90% god aweful nu-metal, and I do mean god aweful.
So The Darkness, while they are no Slayer, Napalm etc are refreshing in the fact it's guitar heavy and amusingly tongue-in-check and get a exposure in the pop media. I mean come on, "get your hands off my woman mutha-f&cka!". That's funny (uncensored)
