So is there a source to buy the DKB Megachip for the A2000 still? Also is this the only easy option to add more chip ram to the A2000 or are there other options now?
I have the rev 6.3motherboard in my A2000.

I haven't seen any for sale in a long time. In fact at Amiwest last year was the first time I saw a machine with a Megachip in it for the first time in ages. We tried to get it working and failed.
Best bet is to look on Amibay and post in the wanted section.

They used to come up every few weeks on ebay & Amibay, around $100 bucks right up until a year or two ago. Now they're not so common. Sometimes it's worth it to just buy a used 2000 or 500 that already has one installed, even if it's a bit more $$ think of it as then you'll have a whole other spare parts machine, too. :)
I think the ACA 500 has some hack installed that allows it to expand your Chip memory, but don't quote me on this. Obviously it'll be years, if ever, before the ACA 500 technology ever makes it to the 2000. :(
There's a few very sophisticated hacks that involve piggybacking additional memory on top of the existing 1MB of motherboard chip mem. Saw a diagram once, wouldn't be something I'd want to try, myself.

You can have mine when you pry it out of my cold, dead, hands. ;)

I'd love to see someone replicate that, but is it going to be me? Not a chance. :p

Yes, it performs a soft "hack" for 512k Chip RAM users that have the 1mb Agnus installed in their machines. Selecting that option in the Expert Menu of the ACA500 before startup enables the extra RAM available to go to Agnus for a total of 1MB Chip. The Menu will let you know if that feature is available or not for your machine.

Lol, would not think of removing my Megachip from my A2000! So same answer here.

Thanks for that link. That is a great write up and an easy mod for someone with good solder skills.
If I'd known about that back in the 90's, I bet I would have been popping a dozen of those out a week for all the demand.
