Title: 7.5.3 hardfile for ShapeShifter?
Post by: kreciu on January 12, 2016, 09:53:38 PM
Can anybody tell me where I can find hard file with System 7.5.3 for ShapeShifter?

I think this should work since 7.5.3 is free... Apple was offering it on their website but I have not idea how to use files they provided with ShapeShifter.

Any help will be greatly appreciated :).

This might work:
(7.5.5) http://www.emaculation.com/articles/starterdisk.zip
(got from http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=48500&highlight=hardfile)
I do have several ,mostly 7.6.1 varying from 3 MB to 60 MB compressed and no bigger idea what's in them.

If you have the chance then try Fusion as well, as it's a little bit faster than ShapeShifter.
I use both of them.

I always used ShapeShifter and got used to it. Maybe I should play with Fussion, just to see how it works.

Definitely, it's worth trying. As I said before it's a bit faster in my opinion.

It's faster - especially in floating point.  In fact, it's so much faster in that department that Amblin Entertainment used EMPLANT boards w/FUSION as their Avid Video systems.  :)

@JimDrew EMPLANT+Fusion, is exactly the configuration that works best for me.
Additionally certain versions of EMPLANT have localtalk ports on them,  Making it easy to setup Appletalk networks.

OK, but where I can get Fusion? I read that 3.1 should be free, but WHERE? I also read that I should ask author of Fusion for full version (3.2). Did anybody tried that?

I'd suggest EAB, Tosec or Planetemu.
3.2 everywhere
Or ask 3 posts up...
I have a licensed one...

I've actually got an emplant board I was thinking of selling. Its even got the original manual and I have several fusion disks.

Maybe I should pull it out and see how it works again, its been awhile.
