I must be bored. Actually I'm just avoiding moving a bunch of workstations around for an office "realignment". Time to get some coffee and get back to work! ;)

Funny how you think people sound before you have heard them speak ^^
Using Ibrowse most on my 1200, does what I need which is connecting to my fileserver to grab files and downloading stuff from aminet :)
Your A2000 is sweet tho :)

I use IBrowse 2.4 as well. I consider it best 68k browser. I wish there was IBrowse 2.5.
It's been confirmed that IB 2.5 exists.

Or maybe IBrowse 3.0?

Up until something got messed up ibrowse was my go to browser as well. I cant click links in pages now without have to click over and over before it finally starts to navigate to the page. The link just turns yellow and does nothing.
Its driving me nuts now, lol....
As for Netsurf, it looks just like that and is just as slow on my 060. Not really usable like that.

And I was wondering when I got to try it on my 68030

It's built without optimisations, there's some very non-optimal code (eg. bitmaps are pushed back via datatypes), and the text is rendered using outline fonts* (which are dead slow on 68k).
I've had it running on 020/AGA at actual speed on an emulator here and it's not much slower - because the screen resolution is less, it has much less work to do to redraw the visible portion of the page.
Help needed to improve it.
* you can switch to bitmap fonts with the following config lines, this makes scrolling on my emulated '020 tolerable:
use_diskfont:1
font_sans:Topaz
font_serif:Topaz
font_mono:Topaz
font_cursive:Topaz
font_fantasy:Topaz
I also use:
redraw_tile_size_x:100
redraw_tile_size_y:100
window_simple_refresh:1

You could also show Artur's version for comparison.

Hi! The versions are very confusing to me (who's is who's, etc.) got some clarification over in the other thread, and someone posted a link to Artur's, so I'll give it a try. Thanks! :)

It looks very impressive!
It was difficult to read all the text on the screen. Can you tell me exactly which version of AmigaOS that is? I think I read 3.9 somewhere, but on the bar at the top it seems to say "??".
Your A2000 seems to have a 68xxx CPU, but the Netsurf browser said it was for AmigaOS 4, although Chris Young commented it's for 3.5 or 3.9.
Of course, there's a school of thought that says there's no need to connect to the Internet on your Amiga, because that's telecommunications, but the Amiga is about creating stuff.

68060, 3.9 with BB 1-4 and many additional customizations. It confuses the little hack I run to change the title bar. ;)
There are several ports of NetSurf for classic/68k/3.9, still very alpha. It's a struggle wrapping my head around all the different versions, but nice to see folks trying to develop a modern browser for our classic systems. :)

That is not a "school of thought", dude. I can't even. :(

OK, that explains which OS it is. Netsurf must have been promoting itself for AmigaOS 4 although that version was for OS 3.x
Of course, if an Amiga isn't connected to the Internet, then people will be encouraged to use it for creating stuff. Files from the Internet can be transferred onto it.
You used an interesting O sound in mode and promotion, which I've noticed before. Where is that from? I know you're in Washington DC, but that doesn't mean it comes from there, or how widespread it is.

The OS4 version is a release version.
The OS3 version is an alpha test build only.
To confuse matters more, there is also Artur's version "NetSurf68k", in various flavours which is built on the Framebuffer frontend.
There is also a build of the GTK frontend which runs on OS4 AmiCygnix.

Well that certainly clears up all the confusion.
I have been using my Amigas manly to do graphics, because I realised that I stopped doing graphics when I changed over to using PCs, even with Linux. Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, and even The GIMP are totally useless compared with Deluxe Paint.
I think I might start a YouTube channel in the next couple of days, showing how to do graphics in Deluxe Paint, as well as some graphics I've already done. It may just be graphics I've already done, because I'm not sure where to put the camera while I'm demonstrating how it works.
I use AmigaOS/Workbench 3.1 on an Amiga A1200, because I can't afford an AmigaOS 4.1 computer, but from what I've seen, people use AmigaOS 4.1 mainly for the Internet, instead of for creating graphics, software, or music.
I don't care about playing Doom on AmigaOS. I wish someone would port the original "The Sims" onto AmigaOS/Workbench 3.1. The games leading up to "The Sims", such as "Sim City", "Sim Life" and "Sim Earth" were all released for the Amiga.

nice!

Please do! From my own attempts [1] I've found camera positioning to be really easy once you get creative. I just stack up books and boxes to get the height right. I also use the emulator and screen recording software on Ubuntu for the fullscreen stuff.

Making these changes to Chris version users/choises file, makes it very fast with my 060 amiga.
friend_bitmap:1
window_simple_refresh:1
redraw_tile_size_x:100
redraw_tile_size_y:100
use_diskfont:1
font_sans:Topaz
font_serif:Topaz
font_mono:Topaz

Didn't test amiga.org at all, but no Graphics corrution with amigaworld.net and wikipedia.com.
If you trust that netsurf own clock those make it almost 2x faster than other versions for OS3.5/9. It took 22 seconds to render amigaworld.net
