I know this isn't exactly in the right area, but I just wanted to say Happy Mardi Gras folks! Today marks "Fat Tuesday" which is the culmination of 40 days of feast before the 40 days of Lent (Ash Wednesday).
We just picked up 10# of crawfish, potatoes, and corn for the final feast. We Gon' eat good!
Bye Ya'll.

That sounds really tasty, hope your feast was good.
Question: Why do Southerners call crayfish crawfish?
Are they really something different?

I think it's a small kind of lobster.
-edit- Lopster? What's that. Learn to spell you idiot!

Poor lobster

It's a fresh water lobster like creature - very tasty!
They also make good bait for bass fishing.

Ah, we call cra(y/w)fish kräfta in sweden, but we usually only eat them in August. During "mardi gras" we eat semlor or hetvägg. According to the legend, a swedish king died while eating them, but hey there dilicious. :-D

I've never eaten lobster or crayfish, tinned crab is the closest I've come to eating such things. I hope it tastes nicer than that though, cos that was like rubber chicken.
