Title: FS: PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0GHz 7GB RAM 250GB HD
Post by: mindprober on September 13, 2015, 03:59:44 AM
Okay to post a for sale ad for this machine?

My reasoning is I have a better target audience here due to the machine's MorphOS capabilities than I would trying to sell it as a vanilla PowerPC Mac on a Mac-only forum.

Also hoping to sell locally before considering eBay due to the weight.

Not all Powermacs works with MorphOS. What model is it and what gfx card does it use?

Oh, I wouldn't bother posting if I didn't know it already worked. :D

It is the PowerMac 7,2 model with Radeon 9800 pro graphics.

But I'm getting ahead of myself....

Sounds like a perfectly legit posting to me. MorphOS-capable Macs come up here all the time.

Title: FS: PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0 GHz
Post by: mindprober on September 20, 2015, 04:15:27 PM
Attached are only some of the images. More to follow.

Here are the specs:

PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0GHz CPUs

7GB RAM

250GB hard drive

Radeon 9800 pro (256MB) graphics card w/ Zalman copper cooler

Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8 (MorphOS 3.9 capable but I did not install)

Apple wired keyboard and mouse

Some scratches on the case but very clean otherwise

First preference is local buyers that will pickup. I am in the South Bay area of L.A.

Next I will try craigslist and then finally eBay but the shipping will probably too prohibitive for that.

Asking $250

Please send PM if interested. Thanks!

Those are such pretty cases.  If I had one (just the case, mind you) I'd build an i7 "Hackintosh" inside. :]

It is pretty.  Shame about the giant Apple logo on the side, though!  :p

Tell me about it - I passed on a blue G3 tower case for the same reason! :)

Wait...is this Mac hardware MorphOS worthy? I mean can MorphOS work on this?

If this was being sold in the EU I'd get it.
