Amiga computers make very rare appearances on craigslist for my area but when they do appear, they seem to be a very good find. Went to grab an Amiga 500 for $100 from a local sale and discovered 3 of them in the box. One of which seems to be Rev. 6 with 2.0(4?5?) ROM and 1 MB of RAM stated on a sticker. No PSU or RGB/TV adapter but still 3 of them in one setup is rare. There is still an Amiga 2000 out there that I couldn't take home because it was $300. This A2000 had two floppies and some sort of knobs to control audio etc. in the CD-ROM bay.
The 500s are kinda yellow but I'll take some pics, clean them up and take some new pictures.
pics coming soon. Anyone willing to sell an extra Amiga 500 PSU or maybe trade with one of them?

Cool find!
Just get an ATX adapter for you Power supply so you can use any atx ps with your Amiga.

Thanks for the info amiman99, any good place where I can find the ATX adapter?

Looks like AmigaKit is out or never had it: http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=942
Or, make your own, but you need to get your own connector.

These are usually in stock. Looks like they just ran out? Might try emailing and asking:

Or make your own, LOL. ;)

$39.99 may inspire me to make my own but I feel that the cost of the parts and labor needed to do one, will cost more than that.
Thanks guys for the links. I have asked the seller to let me know if she finds it so I am going to give it some time and then invest into a custom ATX PSU. Maybe, they'll be in stock by then?

Unless I'm reading this wrong the Amigakit price is in £, so closer to $49 than $39.

In case you pursue the build-your-own approach, here is pinout of the A500s power connector: http://www.amiga.org/gallery/index.php?n=3902.
If, like me, you're unsure if the image shows the connector from the inside OR the outside (mirror image), a meter to show continuity to the A500's ground plane is invaluable. Of course, if you're in the southern hemisphere, its opposite! ;)
I've seen the square power connectors offered a few times, or, you can find a dead PS and steal the cable (BE sure to confirm continuity. Don't rely on wire color alone!).

The conversion rate of EUR to USD is .91 right now. I remember when the EUR was way more expensive, now they're practically dead-even. Interesting dealing with an international forum. Also, a trip to Europe for an American would be really, really cheap right now! ;)

Thanks! I will use the BYO approach only as a last resort. The price from the last link seems not too bad. I am hoping the seller can find at least one PSU.

Here are the three Mosquettieres. Uncleaned still. One of them has a switch button (Kick rom switcher maybe?)

Maybe it's for the '040 board. You never know!
-
Yeah I wish!! LOL. I opened up the one with two switches actually (one on the side of the floppy one in the back). It is definitely not a '040 board but it does seem peculiar. Besides the disgusting dirt and mouse droppings on the board the two switches are interconnected between the GARY chip, which is raised, and on the board between the M68000 and the ROM chip. According to the sticker, it is a KS1.3 Rev.5 and 512KB RAM. However, I do see A501 expansion ram board so maybe the sticker refers to an old setup. I didn't go any further because of the mouse droppings and I don't have an air blower ATM. More to come...

I bought the 2000, two 1084s monitors, manuals, and extras from her at a really good deal less then she was asking for the 2000 the op mentioned above. It needs a serious cleaning but the battery appears to not be bad and it has an 030 board inside and Retina GFX board. I really was only interested in the monitors so I could be tempted on some local trades on the 2k if anyone is interested. Picture of it on my LCD panel with VGA and the RGB out also works.

WOW! Good for you! If I had some extra cash, I would have bought everything from her. She only gave me a box with three Amiga 500 in it. No PSU, no mouse, no disks. She seemed a bit confused of what was what. You wouldn't happen to have an Amiga 500 PSU & a mouse and maybe some extra workbench disks in there would you?
EDIT: Where are you located?
-
No 500 power supply's and I haven't gone through the hundreds of disks just yet. I'm in Williamsburg. I have two 1200's both with 030 boards, a 3000, and a 500.
-
Cool! An Amigan neighbor. Thought this area was completely clear of any Amiga computers and Amiga fans. Good to know.
I have owned A1000, A1200, A500 over the years but right now I only have an A1000 without mouse or KB and these 3 A500s. As of right now, none of them are completely setup as I need the extra parts such as (Monitor, Mice, KB, Disks, etc.)
PM me if you have any of the things I mentioned above.
-
I'm even short a power-supply for one of mine as it came with a UK version. Did you leave her contact info in case she finds them?

Yeah, she has my email and cell#. She said she would continue to look for them and let me know for sure. If not, I already have someone on this forum who has offered one for a very good price.
The other dilemma is the screen. I have an LCD but doesn't sync to 15Khz so I need to figure that out if I can't find a monitor.

Have you looked at a GBS-8200? You can get them cheap on eBay sub $30 and use it as a scan doubler / Flicker Fixer. I have one and it works great for the money. I even nabbed a scanline adding device to it and use this on my main 1200. Just do not buy it from Jammaboards.com or their eBay store because they use a custom firmware that doesn't work with PAL modes.
EDIT: This is the seller I bought mine from - http://www.ebay.com/itm/371083871583?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I have one of those, just never got around it due to no KB and Mouse on the A1000. I bought it from Aliexpress but I am not sure of the manufact. I will check it when I go home. Now, if I can just get the PSU for A500, that would be cool.

I own three of these and swear by 'em. Only downside to an internal converter is if you want something you can quickly switch between all three of your A500's, lol. ;)

I was vacationing there 2 days ago. We love that place! You're very fortunate.

Yeah I've seen those. A bit pricey but looks like they are really worth it. I plan on eventually keep only one of them and put the other ones up for sale once I get them cleaned from mice poop lol and dirt.

Thanks I am blessed for very many reasons. We love it here minus the swampy summer and constant tourists going to Virginia Beach. I don't mind the historic district tourists at all.

@number6 Did you say you had an extra A500 PSU? I tried to PM you but I think the PM system no this site is not working.

PM's are hit-or-miss lately, apparently. Did you miss Mechy's thread about having 10 of them for sale? ;)
-
Did anybody else happen to notice the Xetec? It's in the second set of pics and the fourth picture.
Nice addition for one of the 500's if it works!

I did but the price seems steep for a PSU.
-
But wait, there is more!! For only $30 you can get 5 boxes filled if Magazines, CSA Derringer 030, ATOnce, Joysticks, PowerSupplies, Disks, etc.etc.etc..
I am very excited but a bit overwhelmed lol.
