It looks like Mine Sweeper

I think you use the mouse.
-
In Minesweeper the number is supposed to correspond to the number of "hidden" mines that are adjacent to any given square, right? In that case something doesn't add up, from the screenshot...
-
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, then it probably play as dern near a duck as possible, barring it not being a duck.
-
Looks like Mine Sweeper, but isn't. You can pick a number that is to the sides or up/down from the block last picked.. That's all I could figure out. I couldn't figure out what number to pick to get a good score..

Is this the game? http://aminet.net/package/game/think/MagicNumbers (http://aminet.net/package/game/think/MagicNumbers)
If so, the manual says:
Game rules and usage
The board is devided into cells, which has a positive or negative number
of points assigned to it. First player can move across the board only in
horizontal and second player only in vertical. After selecting any
of the cells, points assigned to it are added to points of player
who selected it. Players' goal is to get as many points as possible.
Game ends when all cells are selected or if current player is not
able to make next move.

Wow!
How fun is that!?

Thanks.. I played. I won!!! Yay me. Now if we could just port this to a VIC-20, we can rid ourselves of these fancy Amiga computers!!!! Because this is sooooo fuuuuun.
Wait, what?
-
Then I suppose you will need a http://www.vic20.org forum to post on.

This game represents the futility of life.
