Hello,
With cool projects such as the Amiga reloaded on the way what will we do about cases? I work in the toy inudstry and have access to 3d scanners and software that will allow me to re-create the original case work for say an A500 or A1200.
The problems is mass production. 3d printing in it's current state is not mature enough to print cases for mass production. Even one off prints require so much post processing and cleanup it's not worth it.
I can't mass produce the case, but I can create the file that can be 3d printed or mass produced should anyone want to do a kickstarter or whatever.
Anyone have a putrid yellow casework they have no hope of retrobrighitng? Perhpaps a case with a botched paintjob? Part of the scanning procedure requires that I spray the case with matte paint.
I will be using the DAVID sl2 scanner and software and Fusion 360/ Solidworks/ Catia.

There's been some discussion about this over at EAB, don't know how concrete plans are at this moment.

A "build on order" case would be great.
