Hi :
Today, my mom asked me to move my amiga to a different place in my bedroom.
When I plugged my monitor cable back in the monitor (1084 s), I saw two slots
in the monitor for the cable, and I did not know which one was the right one.
So i took a chance and plugged the cable into the monitor without knowing
which one was the right one.
When I powered the amiga 2000 on, something incredible happened :
MY amiga display always looked like almost a monochromatic display,
but now , the display looks super, in full color and much better !!!
My guess is, I did not know which one was the slot for the amiga monitor,
so I was using my amiga with the wrong display, without knowing.
I am so impressed now, to see the full color display !!!
I thanked my mom very much, for asking me to move my amiga .
-
Also,
i do not know, but is possible the amiga monitor cable, was plugged into the right slot,
but not fully installed.
Anyways, the amiga display looks a million times better, with full color.
Thank you for reading !!!

If you thought you loved your Amiga before then load up a HAM image and you will be really impressed! Time to load up all those old programs and games to see what you have been missing all this time.
Congratulations!

Lovely story with a happy ending! But, I will say this; there's only one correct location for any Amiga, or Commodore - OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT! Yes, do make sure that there is no possibility of sun contact at any time of the day, and any season.

I still live with my mum. I'm definitely a mummy's boy.

Does not compute.
-
wat
So wait, you've had it plugged into the wrong port the entire time, or not plugged in properly?
-
Holycow!!!
First! Do du still live with mom?
it is strange for you or what ?
-
@duce
Yes, I believe the computer was plugged in the wrong spot all this time,
or either not completely plugged the right way.
I was very impressed to see the new display.
-
Forgive me if it's a mildly patronizing question, but how didn't it dawn on you that the display shouldn't look like a train accident in the making all this time and check to make sure if the machine was plugged together properly?
Not even sure how a machine would be usable or in the least bit satisfying to use in such a manner if the cable wasn't plugged into the right port or plugged in properly.

Let us not throw stones within glass houses.

Let's just rejoice that something good happened for Rednova :-)

Was it an RCA cable?

Text-based browser?
Try using one which supports pictures... something incredible will happen to your web-browsing experience. :D

I don't see any picture in that particular comment, either. Although if it's as bad as some of the other ones that've already been posted on this thread, maybe I'm just mentally blocking it out. :p

That was quite educational! I didn't know anything about that...until now that is.
Cheers.

I can see the picture perfectly well. Get yourself a Windows phone, and then it will magically reveal itself :)
-
firefox 39 and no picture.
I tried to go to the picture directly but page does not exist.
?
edit
Chromium no good either.
-
I would guess a DNS lookup issue, but weird nevertheless. Dunno what my bb10 (O2UK) dns settings are.
Perhaps there's a whole world of funny pics out there which you're oblivious to. :)
-
I remember having some dns issues the other day.
I do not seem to have a problem today.
Where can I find this picture?
-
This is like one of those social experiments, where everybody stares up at the sky and pretends they see something. Or like "the emperor's new clothes". I'll wait for a screenshot of this supposed picture, kthx! ;)

Here ya go:
:-P
It appears that this thread has thrown our respective DNS servers into an ontological disagreement.
Let's not push it too far, or the Internet might have a full-blown existential crisis.
PS - the url is http://1.1.1.2/bmi/th00.deviantart.net/fs39/PRE/f/2008/320/6/8/Another_Zelda_Meme_ARGH_by_rueyeet.jpg
...could be some mobile-network-type url mashing.
-
Some additional info on the problem:
http://websupporter.net/blog/mobile-users-attention-editing-blogposts-from-mobile-can-inject-wrong-image-paths/
Something for the admins to look at (perhaps add these url prefixes/domains to a blacklist?) - can't see that it could be realistically solved at the client end either way (when posting, or when viewing).
Mobile phones: is there anything they can't break?

What is Radio Corporation of America?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCA
RCA Corporation, founded as the Radio Corporation of America, was an American (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States) electronics company in existence from 1919[2] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCA#cite_note-rca.com-2) to 1986 when General Electric (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Electric) took over the company in 1985[3] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCA#cite_note-3) and split it up the following year
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCA_connector
The name "RCA" derives from the Radio Corporation of America (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCA), which introduced the design by the early 1940s for internal connection of the pickup to the chassis in home radio-phonograph consoles.
