Jens Schönfeld announced some new hardware at the 30 years event in Amsterdam, as well as saying "I will make Amiga reloaded", just like with the C64 reloaded. :)

He also mentioned two new cards for the Amiga 1200. One based on a 68020EC clocked at 28 MHz and the other a normal 68020 clocked at 16 MHz. One, or both, will contain a port/connection for an USB-adapter.
My first A1200 CPU card was a Blizzard with a 28MHz 68020EC and an extra 4MB of RAM. It served me well for over a decade for games and word processing. It will make a handy budget card for gamers and the addition of a USB expansion is a real bonus.

Regarding the "Amiga reloaded" project, I hope the new motherboard incorporates USB, a SD/FF and hopefully one of those 28MHz CPUs with extra fast RAM. I've got a spare case somewhere that could do with something like that.

I doubt Jens needs new AGA chips, he has had enough experience with Amiga video generation circuits that he could probably replace those with a custom designed part.
Personally, I am disappointed that he has again desided to go with 020 cpus, a faster 030 would be more attractive.
After dealing with the issues in using an 040, the 030 is about the fastest cpu I am interested in using ( outside of any future advances with FPGAs).
The really exciting thing about this is Jens CAN build new Amiga boards.
NEW Amigas guys, think about it.
From the guy that has a license to incorporate 3.1 into his devices, and has spent years working to reengineer the Amiga chipset.
Jens moves very slowly, but if you read between the lines...

060 is the way to go, doesn't have the same issues as the 040 and performance screams.

Anyone remember Clone-A ... I wonder if this is a rebadge of the project that has been underway for MANY years...
I'm pleased to see it finally arriving.

It could involve some parts of that.
And Lurch, the only major issue I know of with the 040 is heat, and that was solved in the latter runs.
Motorola continued to develop offshoots of the 040 after the 060 was released, including one communications processor that was still being produced after the 060 had been discontinued.

There was also supposed to be a turbo capability to get 40 MHz plus . . .

That sounds a lot like an 030. I don't know of any 020 processors that can be tortured that high.
And good 040 and 060 processors are getting hard to come by.

I agree with Iggy the Clone-A would be cool to see.
I'm going to be watching Jens site even more than I already do now.
It sounds more like he'll be making a modern A1200 motherboard. WOW would that be amazing. I'd really want to buy one.
From the link.....
"Most importantly, in my opinion, is that he said: %&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!8220;I will make Amiga Reloaded.%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!8221; Apparently he has a huge stock of AGA-chips and can therefore make new Amiga 1200 motherboards. Woohoo! :) This was great news to me and I will definitely buy one."
So he has original AGA chips to utilize and if anyone can make a motherboard to accept them with USB, modern video output, etc. it would be Jens.
