hello,
I have a PAL Amiga 600, and a 1084s-D1
Unfortunately, my video cable has female 9pin but I need a male 9pin cable because the monitor is female.
Can I buy something to convert female to male ? Or should I get a new cable? Any idea who sells one ?
Thanks, Peter

You'd better buy a new cable it shouldn't cost more than $10. Check if the pinouts are the same. If so you can use a gender changer.

Just a quick google search finds this company:

I've never heard of them before, but the list looks like it was recently updated? Huh. A bit steep at $36, I know there used to be a few other places that sold them (including several ebay stores), but just wanted to throw this out there. Might be worth a call if you don't have luck elsewhere?

Hi,
I checked my 1084 manuals this morning. The pinout on the 9 pin connector is the same for monitors with either gender, so you just need a gender changer such as http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Slimline-Serial-Gender-Changer/dp/B00066HOXY/ (http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Slimline-Serial-Gender-Changer/dp/B00066HOXY/). Just make sure to get a straight-through gender changer and not a null modem cable.

Thanks-I ordered the gender changer from amazon.
Odd that Commodore would change the gender on its monitor for 2 versions of 1084s.
