Finally got around to installing my silver surfer on my aca500. The aca500 shows that the red mark goes a certain way, but my silver surfer doesn't have any markings. So other than taking a 50/50 chance of utter disaster, how should it mount?

Simple, buy 2 and the one that doesn't put out blue smoke is the proper orientation!

Connecting things to the clockport is always tricky. After checking the Delfina manual (http://wiki.icomp.de/w/images/f/fc/Delfina_manual.pdf), a picture of an installed Delfina (http://kawai.spb.ru/files/lj/amiga1200/IMG_8918.jpg) (where the clockport cable have been installed with the red mark in the wrong side according to the manual) and a picture of an installed Silver Surfer (http://www.scarlet.nl/~niceguy/images/silversurfer.jpeg) I'd say the silver surfer should be oriented so the card hangs towards the front of the ACA500 with the pins for the serialport face the A500 sideexpansion... but do take a look at the sources for yourself as I won't take any responsibility for incorrect installation. ;)

Did you solve the problem? I have just unscrewd A500 and trying to install plipbox via silver surfer. Im looking at the ACA and surfer and dont know what to do:).

Never did try, I'm scared to blow up one or both. Hoping someone is braver than me and will post the correct orientation.

You could ask Jens about it on his support site.

What is exactly is the advantage of using SilverSurfer on an Amiga 500? I have ACA500 myself and I am unsure the purpose for it.
Thanks in advance.
