Since upgrading the graphics card on my X1000 to a R7 250X (SIl), with the Radeon HD 2.7 driver, my AmiCygnix installation either starts with graphical corruption or crashes when I try to load an application (eg, AbiWord).
I suspect my X11 environment isn't set up correctly to work with the new graphics card.
Does anyone else use AmiCygnix on an X1000 with this card and, if so, which settings work?

what screenmode are you using? 16-bits screens will not work -- iirc -- with that card.

It's a known problem. AmiCygnix uses 16-bit screenmodes, but expects a big-endian 16-bit mode. However, Southern Islands GPUs (like the R7 250X) don't support big-endian 16-bit textures. So, 16-bit modes are little-endian. Since AmiCygnix assumes that it has a big-endian mode all the colours are wrong.
AFAIK the Amicygnix author has been informed, so hopefully we'll see an update that addresses this problem.

I have here a fixed version of Amicygnix. That works well with my RadeonHD7850 .
It is still beta, nothing for release.

Thanks to all for the swift replies. I can still use AbiWord, despite the glitches, so I'll wait until the fixed AmiCygnix is released.

You can run it in window mode on your workench. That works for me atleast. Or else i get the same problems as you. Running a 7970 gfx card.

That probably explains both this (http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=40175&start=0&post_id=758623&order=0&viewmode=flat&pid=758562&forum=9#758623), and why I had graphical issues with Freespace in software mode.

There was talk earlier in this thread about an updated version of AmiCygnix - does anyone know if this has been released yet, or whether a release is imminent?
