Title: Compatible ink cartridges
Post by: that_punk_guy on February 21, 2004, 02:32:58 PM
So, if you read the manual for your lovely Epson or HP, or whatever, it says in there that use of third party cartridges can lead to dodgy printouts or even damage to your printer, etc, etc.

I figured it was all bullshit, but because it was hard to find compatibles for my Epson C42+, for a long time I just bought Epson's own. When I found somewhere that had compatibles, I switched. Now the printer's gone kablooey. First I noticed the grease where the head moves back and forth had turned black, so ink was being spilt where it shouldn't be, and now colour printouts turn out blue or purple (I can't tell), no matter how much head-cleaning / nozzle checking I do.

So, what are your experiences with compatible cartridges? Anyone? I want to know if I was just unlucky, or what...

:-?

I've had mixed results, but given the price of ink, and the generally cheap price of printers, I use it anyway.
