Title: Is this compatible with ACA500?
Post by: xboxOwn on April 24, 2015, 08:29:41 PM
I wish to buy this card: http://www.sandisk.com/products/memory-cards/compactflash/extremepro-160mbs/?capacity=256GB because I want to store only movies and MP3 on them. After I do movie conversion to .hv to run using HAMP.RUN the maximum size of the movie reaches 5 GB that is like 2 hours and a half movie. Seeing the maximum size of FAT32 is 4 GB I can convert different moves that reach 4 GB size and work on fat32. Putting that a side, assuming I have all movies 4 GB in size each..worth size of a DVD...I can put 64 movies on this card and enjoy watching them on my Amiga 500...which by the way I EXTREMELY DO ENJOY watching them on my Amiga 500 much more than PC if you ask me. Again off topic...sorry...I tend to go on and on...anyways my question is this.

I have an ACA1233 with ACA500 on my Amiga 500 is this card compatible with my ACA500? If so, I will buy it right away.

Nice comeback and throw it on your face google is your friend. But that does not give me cf compatibility. Individual computers do not even have email either.

Thanks though.

Should work, the ACA-500 doesn't have a limit as it has and IDE driver on board that supports CF-Cards higher than 4GB.

I would use a 2GB-4GB as the primary boot CF-Card, and then the 256GB CF-Card as PC FAT card.

I currently use a 2GB for the OS and a 4GB for the PC FAT card. Was looking at a 128GB but haven't had the need for more space yet.

If you really want to make sure you can post your question on EAB on the below post and Jens usually replies there.

Have you actually converted many movies yet? I was thinking of getting this same card but had real problems with audio sync on longer HAM movies. I didn't fancy spending £500 on a CF card to get unwatchable results.
