For those of you with Indivision 1200 AGA MK2cr, how are you mounting it to the case? Mine has the bulky blue DVI connector. I purchased one of those plastic DVI back plates from amigakit and I ended up breaking it because the screw holes do not line up. I had to buy another one and have the same problem. I tried widening the holes with a screw, but no luck. I'm tempted to heat up a nail and melt the holes wider.
Thanks

We use HDMI instead ;)

After treating your eczema with a mild steroid cream (Triamcinolone 0.025%), have you thought of sanding down the bottom blue plastic connector to make it fit better?

Well that was unnecessary. I'd say his response was helpful on both issues. What, no sense of humor? :angryfire:
I hope you used the proper form when you reported it:

Eh, the Beave's harmless.... My understanding is, his doctor says he swallows a lot of aggression.... along with a lot PIZZA's!
-
Wow....as someone who has actually been to the doctor in the past for eczema, I didn't find it funny. By the way...the tiny scab on my thumb is not eczema. It's the result of scraping my thumb against a piece of metal. Judging by your attitudes I guess it would be ok for me to insult forum members because of their physical appearance in the future.
-
@Oldsmobile_Mike,
Now that is funny. A must save. :-)
-
Sorry if I offended!
Let me be more precise (not about the John Candy quote from Stripes), but from the photo displayed above (the scab is irrelevant): looking at the photo, do you see the white lines the follow the finger prints down onto the dermal ridges of the index finger -- these denote dry, atopic skin; yes these can be simulated by the removal of the oils of the hand with harsh detergents or solvents, but at the edge of the thumb's nail bed, rather than a smooth flesh colored line, the eponychium is irregular, cracked and jagged with white flakes and cracks mediolateral onto the skin. Other than eczema (or one of the other immune irregularities) the only way to get this look is by torturing oneself with a harsh chemical and a brush (which would in addition, cause redness). Ergo, if eczema did not cause this, then whatever did would still benefit from a mild steroid, plus a dry-skin lotion that omits mineral oil, such as Eucerin or Moisturel.
If you don't want help, don't show a picture of either your computer problem or skin. The diagnosis and suggested treatment is free, but after 4 years of private medical school education and being board certified in my specialty, and board certified in my subspecialty, I can assure you this is not a post making fun of your appearance -- unless you post a full length picture.
-
Oh, Mike that retort was excellent!

Stick to neonatology.
-
Neonatal Intensive Care is a subspecialty of Pediatrics requiring 3 years of training beyond the 3 years of Pediatrics, after the 4 years of medical school.
Do you find yourself paranoid and with a pervasive, long-standing suspiciousness and generalized mistrust of others? Are you hypersensitive, easily feel slighted, and habitually relate to the world by vigilant scanning of the environment for clues or suggestions that may validate your fears or biases? Do you think you are in danger and look for signs and threats of that danger?
-
Boom.

We are terrible people. The advice in the [deleted] comment should fix your computer problem, though!

Wow! 11 posts to say, file to fit :)

Well, now that you mention it........

Nah, again it was free! He can keep the 5 cents...

Well, the "offensive" post I deleted was the third one down.

Stick to neonatology.
Perhaps along with my real name, I should list my home address so that those inclined to stalking can send a "hit man" to rub me out.
P.S., a private message warned me of impending doom.

We already know who you are and where you live - besides "real stalkers" don't send out.

This is what I sent him. I don't think it's too much to ask.
This ends now. From what I understand, this forum is not about spam or solicitation. You, as a doctor, should respect confidentiality. If you mention my hands or skin again, I will contact the medical center you work at in Guam and let them know you have been giving unsolicited medical advise on a hobby/computer forum. Do you enjoy shaming people? I have copied and pasted your comments into a text document. Enough is enough.

Be careful, they might bill you instead!

Bugger me sideways with a cattleprod! This thread sure escalated quickly
...Either this is the result of a really bad trolling attempt, or one of us has a severe case of social leprosy and microphallus
What is your professional medical opinion on this, Dr Dan?

guys, enough already. no more personal comments regarding the OP, mkay?

@OP.
If you already have a support ticket, check it.
If not, please make sure you have it the correct way around.
Wrong way it will not line up, other way it lines up fine.
-
OMG. Was that seriously what the problem was? He needs to flip the DVI connector upside-down? Woooow.
What a great thread. Anyone want to discuss cars now? :)
-
I tried flipping it the other day and the holes still don't line up. I didn't want to post 2 pictures. I'm starting to think either the screw holes on my port were not drilled in the right spots or my port was somehow molded much thicker. It looks to be bulkier than the pic used on amigakits' website. Thank you all for making me out to be a troll. I was under the impression you "Blue State" guys are much more compassionate and tolerant.
-
Have you tried sanding it down or filing it, as Dan suggested? It is possible that yours has a bulkier connector. Just in my "bin-o-DVI cables" next to me, about 30 cables, I've got three different sizes of connector. They look like they could be filed easily enough. I'm sure Jens sources these cables from whatever supplier has them available, and you assume certain standards & tolerances, but you know, "made in China" and all that. ;)
-
I could, but I don't think I should have to sand it down. I think Individual Computers should have better quality control and make sure the parts they pick have some consistency.

Yes, in a perfect world, sure. But remember we're dealing with a hobby market and 30-year-old computers, yes?
Honestly the level of complaining on this forum is pretty over-the-top sometimes. Not directed at you personally, but if I have something that doesn't fit, I have no problem taking my Dremel to it, or my Leatherman, or whatever it takes. But then, some folks would rather spend two hours complaining on the Internet than five minutes to fix something, LOL. ;)
-
If I could filter out this Oldsmobile_Mike character, and a few others, the quality/noise ratio on this site would go up drastically.

Wow.
I've considered filtering out your drivel, as well, but occasionally you manage to pull off a comment that isn't completely off-topic trolling or head-up-your-arse nonsense. Keeps the site amusing!

i see certain members can't refrain from personal insults. *sigh*
