Title: Software to use DAT
Post by: Vanzzig on February 19, 2004, 06:58:46 PM
Now I've done it again. Bought myself new hardware without
knowing how to use it on Amiga! For a cheap penny I bought
a scsi 1gb hd, scsi controller (for pc) and a scsi DAT
(hewlett packard) for only 245 skr (about 35 us$) with p&p. But how to use it?
(I still haven't recived yet.) I suppose it doesn't help
with Diavolo. Thankfull för help

Have you got something like Quarterback Tools? That will support SCSI tape drives automatically.
There's also a few tape handlers on aminet, but I've never tried one of them.

Diavolo definitely works with DAT. I know someone who uses it.

Just enter the device and unit pointing to your dat drive. As long as your scsi controller can detect it, I think diavolo can use it.

Amiback also works with Dat drives. You would have to get a copy second hand as it is not made anymore. Have used it and it worked great until my dat drive dieded:(.
