Title: European Amiga: 30 Years event (The Netherlands)
Post by: Tahoe on January 20, 2015, 01:51:54 PM
We are organising an event celebrating the 30th birthday of the Amiga.
It's to be held in (or close to) Amsterdam on the 27th of June.

We are working on getting a great group of people together, and it would be nice if YOU could join.

So far the following guests/speakers have been announced:
- David Pleasance (Former joint GM Commodore UK)
- Dave Haynie (Of Amiga 3000 fame!)
- RJ Mical (Famed for Intuition)
- Christian Bartsch (KryoFlux)
- István Fábián (Author of Abandoned Places 1+2)
- Franck Sauer (Graphics Artist for Psygnosis)

And a couple of cool thing to see and do! KryoFlux will help you image your disks! UltimatePPC will attend and show the the current status of development!

More news will be disclosed as we progress, but for now, reserve the date in your calendar and start booking your trips now!

What better day to reveal our next guest than on his birthday; it's RJ Mical!

Worked on Intuition, he is a very charismatic speaker and we are delighted to welcome him to the event!

did anyone make the show? looks like a terrific gathering. there's some great photos posted over on a1k.org (link (http://www.a1k.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47360&page=25)); a news article from cgutjahr on amiga-news.de (link (http://amiga-news.de/en/news/AN-2015-06-00068-EN.html)); and members are discussing the new board and accelerators coming from individual computers here (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=69430).

if anyone has any reports from the show or photos, please share them in this thread for those us who were unable to attend. thanks! :)

Looks like one helluva event!

This picture with the caricatures of the Amiga famous is really cool!

It would make a great poster - (if it had names to go with the faces) :)
I do recognize a few though... :laugh1:
Maybe someone could name each person in the pic?

There were plenty of real 68k and PPC Amigas at the show and many of them were signed by the end of the event.  One lucky girl even won an A2000 in the raffle.  Congrtats to eveyone who won something, there were some really neat and exlusive prizes to be had.

Not at all, 90% of the show was focussed on "classic" Amigas, as you'd expect with it being a 30 celebration of the original systems.

Pretty much only Trevor/a-eon was talking about os4, the rest of the guests were ex-commodore or developers from back in the 80s/90s.

The stage was pretty much busy all day with presentations, talks, Q&A's, Music and the ever present raffle which drew most people in and the guys in the tent didn't get so much attention.  I only took a couple of very quick looks around it myself.

I think it could have really done with 2 days to get to see everything properly and chat to everyone you wanted to and room for a couple more presentations.  It would have been good to hear Petro's perspective on the Escom and Gateway eras.
