My setup: Amiga 1200, kickrom 3.1, Blizzard 1230 mkIV 64MB & FPU/MMU and ClassicWB over AmigaOS3.9 (boing bag 1 to 4) on a 4GB CF via IDE and EasyNet cabled Ethernet PCMCIA card.
I have the following issue. When copying files from a share on my NAS DOpus 4.16 (part of ClassicWB) fails with following error message.
Program Failed (Error #8700000E)
Wait For Disk Activity To Finish
Suspend or Reboot
However if I copy the same file from the NAS to the Amiga via CLI/Shell everything works fine :/
Any ideas? Thanks!

Sound eeringly familiar, but I cannot remember a solution

I copy to and from my NAS with AmiFTP (there is also Pete's FTP -- pFTP) without issue; while not as fast not robust as Filezilla on the PC, it works fine via a GUI.

That version of DirOpus supports partitions bigger than 2GB and drives larger than 4GB with no issues? Just mentioning it because I use DirWork, but it gives errors when copying to partitions outside the 4GB range on my OS3.9, BB1-4, fully patched A2000. I have an 8GB CF set up with 4 PFS partitions: Workbench/Work/Documents/Games. First two no problems, but errors all over the place copying to the second two partitions, only when using DirWork. I've learned to work around it. ;)

That's an unusual GURU number. Are you using SMBFS or SAMBA? If SMBFS, make sure you have version 1.74 and set your stack to ~32k at start.

How would he be using SAMBA to mount anything?

Thanks all for thinking with me!
My 4GB CF is partitioned in 3 partitions. One a couple 100 MBs And 2 others both just below 2GB. I just realised I only tried copying to one of the two bigger partitions. I don't get the error if I copy between the partitions or from a floppy or other CF in the PCMCIA slot to the IDE CF.
I don't have any Samba daemon on the Amiga as I don't share Amiga folders, I only connect to shares on my NAS, using the out of the box EasyNet software.
BTW, how/where can I determine what the errorcode (and others) mean?

This sounds like a problem I had with my network when I was still using Dopus4.16. In fact, I'm quite sure that it's Dopus4.16's fault. After I switched to Dopus5.82 the problem seemed to have just vanished. Didn't like Dopus5.82 as a Workbench replacement, so I set it up to work like Dopus4.16.
However, I only had this problem when copying large files, so trying DSopus5.82 may not solve the issue.

LOL, I know and already googled it :) But still the first few pages I visited didn't give me a clear answer for my specific error code :)

Thx, I'll try a more recent DOpus, or maybe good old DiskMaster I remeber I used a lot back in the days on my A500 :)

The code is a combination of segments with the operating system, telling what part went wrong, then why. There used to be an online "calculator" that would does this out once the code was entered.
-
Still, FTP is the fastest way to transfer files (IMHO).

But how easy is it to set that up?

OK, when I disable the progress bar pop-up during copying DOpus 4.16 copies fine from a network share. When I enable it, I get that error message. Would that give someone a clue? I could live without the progress bars, but still would be nice to have some feedback of the copy progress :/

Try Opus 4.17pre20

OK, how do I do that? unpack the archive over the DOpus 416 application drawer?

I did this a couple of years ago and I can't remember.
4.16 was crashing for me after deleting 2-3 files.
Backup your old directory and unpack it to test it.
