Hello:
I am about to purchase an Amiga 1200 from England. I live in the US. Are
there any settings I should be sure of (PAL/NTSC etc)? Is this likely the same machine as the one I had in 1993?
Thank You.

YEah .. If your buying a Uk .. *A1200*... You may well have to buy a US spec PSU.
England runs on 240 volt ac supply
US runs on 110 volt supply
As far as NTSC (US spec TV standard) .. that would only be an issue if you intened to output to a tv or video... even then.. If you get a decent video, it will detect a Pal signal and convert it to NTSC....
Be warned though... MOST US VCR's are CRAP and only allow a single standard.

yeah man, you better watch out
hold down both mouse buttons when you boot up
you will get a menu where you can switch between pal/ntsc but as the wise advice above mentions
you might need to connect to a multi system vcr or get a pal 1984 (the ntsc works too but not as well)
but dont waste yur money. if you must have an A1200 i would strongly urge towards a tower- were you can move out towards a whole host of posiblities
including standard vga video outing through a gfx card
if theis is not just to have a "retro" (and nothing but)personally i would recomend to wait for the new A1 release or even consider an Athlon variety.
:-? ;-) :-) ;-)

@The Editor
Holy cow Batman! I haven`t been on here for a couple of weeks (well not properly) and you have posted about 200-300 posts. What? I`m sure I was only around 100 short of your total. :-)
