Post by: DaNi on February 17, 2004, 10:01:09 PM
I found inside of the game when you type on a shell "Zvrcka". You can read this here:

if this is HOT news then i dont know what CAVE you lived in.

this was posted on all websites as news in 1998*99.

also clickboom cleaned it up in end of 99.

I vaguely remember this when it was discovered. Does anyone know how the matter was resolved?

Yeah, old but sad story.
I have had read that years ago, not to say i was surprised how clickboom ripped off the poor guys :-(

Then that's not the only story behind clickboom, if i remember correct there were problems with Quake, T-Zer0, Napalm and even the unreleased "Z". :-(

I guess I was living under a rock in some dark cave then, because I found/find all of this fascinating!

I had NO idea that cB was that screwed up! I bought MYST, CP, Quake, and T-Zero and actually liked them! Especially CP, but in all fairness I like NEO.GEO fighters better than Capcom and CP  has an intangible SNK feel to it...

Quake is an excellent show off game. I fire it up in an 060 and it plays OK, then I play it on my 4000/68040@25 16MB of RAM and it drags @$$ so bad, it's beyond unplayable and comical! But if I had not bought Quake, I could of never gotten the ID1, ID0 files to use with the awesome FrUiTz of DoJo GLQuake on my G5.  BTW Quake SCREAMS on a G5 with 2 GB of RAM running 10.3!!!

So say what you want about ClickBOOM, I like there games, and the 2-3 odd times I had to contact support, I found them to be professional and curtious.

Too bad they screwed the programers, though!

Peace out!

Interesting story.... Just a curiosity:
Quote

To prevent that all I sad here was accidentally extracted from a
binary  file, I wrote it in 3 languages :  serb, english and french, all
mixed together this way - first one letter from the serb text, then from
english and then from french, and again serb...

If you translate a phrase from one language to another, there is no letter-to-letter correspondence, which means that using the above algorithm, you'll end up with pure words since there will be no more letters to mix :-?
