The A-Eon press release states that Amistore will launch on the 10th November (today).
http://www.a-eon.com/PDF/News_Release_Amistore.pdf
Is it coming via AmiUpdate or from http://www.amistore.net ?
-
Why don't we give them until the end of the day to bring it online?
-
Hi All,
Looks like AmiStore is available now. Check www.amistore.net (http://www.amistore.net), scroll to the bottom for the link to download.

@thread
yup, it's there. i've already bought a few things, the best so far (at least for me) is the AOS4-native personal paint 7.3. broadblues did a terrific job.
@amigakit
a massive congrats on the initial launch!

When is the 68k version coming out?
-
Yes! Nice job Matthew! Many thanks.
I can see me getting a few things to go alongside the release of 4.1FE
Your point about bugs is well made! Where do you want them reported?
-
Does Amistore run on an Amiga 1200 with Classic OS4.1 Installed? Thanks
-
I asked the same question a few days ago, and Amigakit answered;
Runnable on A1200, but quite slow on even a A1200 with 060 (unsure if it was with graphics card).
He did mention that he was looking into making a alternate method for weaker classical amiga, but Im sure its not priority.
-
I think there was a forum post somewhere that talked about making a GadTools version for classics. Hey, look on the bright side, the OS4 users will get to find all the bugs so by the time it makes it to the rest of us it'll be running smooth as silk! ;)

I like your thinking! ;-)

Thanks for your answer Niding.

While emulation doesnt fully support all features of AOS4, it will probarly run Amistore and a wide range of software. Ive already ordered my copy of the OS, tho still waiting! :P
Tho its important to know that Toni, which is doing the emulation development is just doing it out of fun. And as soon as he feels inclined, he will change his focus (probarly improving 680x0 emulation even futher).
So IF you decide to shell out the required quid for AOS on emulation, remember that Amigakit, AEON and Hyperion got no stake or responsibility regarding that. AOS4.1 Final Edition is quoted at 29.95, and there will be a PPC/Classic version.
Just mentioning it to give you an alternative to run AmigaStore.
-
....and talking about emulation the Classic version runs very well under WinUAE & Amiga Forever.

Can someone write a quick review of the store? I don't have an AOS 4 machine and I'm curious :)

Is there a particular email contact address for when Paypal collects your money, but fails to notify the AMIstore site?
-
hmmm dunno. I would pmail amigakit.
-
As you will have noticed from your Paypal statement, the funds are transferred to A-Eon.com, so the AmigaKit site may not be aware of these transactions.
-
Please pmail me so I can look into any problems for you. Please describe in detail so I can help. Thanks.

Does anyone know when AmigaOS4.2 is coming out?

Does anyone know when AmigaOS4.2 is coming out?
Haha. 4.1 FE isn't even hot off the presses yet, and people are already clamoring for 4.2. Let's go, Hyperion!! :roflmao:
-
Holy @#$! I just went to the Amistore and... hey guys, DON'T put a loud as hell video when you click the link... I think I need new underwear now... had headphones on about half volume...

P.S. After cleaning out my shorts, I'll have some time to browse around...

Does anyone know when AmigaOS4.2 is coming out?
I'll bet somebody has an estimate, but none of that information is available; it has been the death of companies to announce a product release date and then miss it repeatedly. Best to wait until it is complete and the DVD/CD pressed to then give a date; this leaves people drooling for the next few weeks until they are ready just to throw wads of cash at their monitor just to get their hands on a fully working product when it is finally out the door.
Just check the past 30 years for companies' obituaries that couldn't meet a promised date, and think of "bad" releases that had to be suddenly patched up (iOS8).

I think it was mentioned at AmiWest that 4.2 is far from finished.
-
Hi All,
Looks like AmiStore is available now.
Great, this is so much better than downloading software over the Internet and using Pay-Pal to transfer money to the developers! Oh, wait...
:lol:

@tmhgm did you miss your meds this morning?

@tmhgm did you miss your meds this morning?
Why? Was my post really that insane? Or did you just want to insult me?
:confused:
-
Apologies if I insulted you.
It was a joke at your expense, relating to your ranting in numerous threads that don't feature your favourite OS.

It was a joke at your expense
That much I understood.
relating to your ranting in numerous threads that don't feature your favourite OS.
This however I don't understand? Or perhaps it was meant as yet another insult, or another joke at my expense?
:confused:

@takemehomegrandma
A valid comment. I dont really like paypal that much, but its usable. Ive seen comments that some people cant use it or just flat out wont.
That aside; a Storefront like Steam or AmigaStore for example makes products more visable, and opens up comments/reviews readily available (granted, comments can be found on several forums).
You could say that everything is available on OSdepot, but that depends upon people being willing to actually donate. And based on comments seen, people are not so good at pressing that "donate" button.
So I agree; the payment system can be more like Steam (ontop of other features).

@TMHG
You do come across as a little bit of a complainer at times. :)

Yeah, working and bought and installed 4 items -- sorry Trevor, but you gotta update your blog. Several items in the TBA category, but now is the opportunity to get content out there folks!
