Title: santa's warp engine II
Post by: sarkis on December 26, 2002, 01:28:54 PM
Santa arrived Xmas eve :) and my dining room table has become my local Amiga dealer..Have the 3000d all disassembled and ready for mayhem.
First project is the INIT2..a cable from the cia to fast slot.. located the pins allright but it looks real hard to soldier that cable to the "very" small head on pin of the fast slot..
is there a knack or special tools to do it. I have a weller pencil soldiering iron..my thoughts are to pretin the ends and place a smidgeon of flux on the head of the pin press the the pretinned cable to the head and the pencil iron on top of the cable and press down and pray..

While ive got the board out i figure to change the battery? will radio shack have this battery?

Next: is the hack to the tray that onced held the floopy.. this warp engine has both a fan and four upright sims so the a three inch wide rectangle goe the entire lengthy of the tray..
no place for internal floppy but.. i have an external
What can done to have the external to be df0 or is it neccessary..
getting tired

Hmm, sounds fun.  What exactly are you doing though? What exactly are you soldering on to?
