I was feeling a little depressed about life, so decided to go through my stuff. I was thinking the clearing out stuff that I didn't need or clearing up room would make me feel better. When I did, I managed to find my Amiga 4000 desktop, Amiga 2000 and my Commodore 128.
It wasn't until I was a few pints into my nightly ritual (yes, it's been a very hard year, the best way for me to cope) I started thinking about my Amigas. After doing a little noodling around I came and was looking through the galleries. It then donned on me, I used to have an account here. Well, so here I am. Though I am sad though I remember all the stuff I ended up having to sell because the woman I thought loved me knew nothing about financial responsibility. My Prometheus, my video card, my other Amiga 4000, my Amiga 500 stuff, my Atari stuff. I'm really upset I had to sell my Commodore 1581 (they are asking stupid prices for those things now.)
I guess now since I'm many years older (bitter), less hair, less disposable income (when I first started I used to have MAD money) and a little bit rusty on my stuff. I think I need to get old of a CD-rom drive to use my Amiga 4000 and probably another hard drive (I think IDE's are getting are to come by.) I think my my ex-wife threw away my Amiga 3.9 CD (along with other things she really didn't care about), but I know I still have the updated roms though.
Wow, I feel completely lost.

You are not lost, some of us "old timers" are still here too. Lots of interesting new things are happening in the Amiga world. Welcome back!

Never give away or sell an amiga because of a woman.
A new woman is much easier to get than some amiga gear now!
Welcome back. people here can be very helpful!

We are. And there's a whole new world of IDE CF Card HD adaptors and indvision display adaptors. Lots of goodies and not too expensive. Relatively.
How's the battery in your 2000?

Don't be too upset. Some of the most fun Amiga systems are those that are "limited" or modest in nature. Ones that don't have a lot of fancy add ons. Sometimes it's fun to get back to the basics (i.e. the motherboard chipset, original processor) and try and see what the potential of that original hardware was. Plus, systems without all the extra cards and peripherals can be more stable.
