Hi,
Who would want a run of redone tower cases A3000 or A4000?
What about a 1/2 scale A3000 tower with atx comaptible. Would suit FPGA Amiga.
-
Good quality A1200 tower case would be good
-
A good 1200 case and I would support, also any of ATX/MATX/MITX cases looking like the tower Amigas I would support also.
Same go for a wedge case like The X500 if a new run would be made.

Would definitely be into these. It would also be nice if there were mounting locations for A1200 USB expansions and things like the DVI/RGB ports for Indivision. I've also been looking around for anybody who has access to a 3D laser scanner. If we could get access to a decent 3D Scanner we could replicate and/or modify the A1200/A500/A600 cases fairly easily using a 3D printer.

Why not just make a good quality case and offer it for sale? Kickstarter should be kicked to the curd. I great vehicle for slick talking con men.
If a product is really good - it will sell.
Just my humble opinion....
-
I agree with the above, plenty of failed projects.
In this case the initial development would be high, so kickstarter would suit it.
For A1200 tower you would want something large, slimliine and light?
-
If you are going to make a case; injection molded? then something classic amiga styled would be prefferable.
Imo anything you might produce, should be flexible, such that any new fpga amiga could fit in it. -No point in people making multiple cases. One good flexible case would be the best imo.
-
The A1200 tower (with itx mounting also) must be the best one to go with.
It should be nice if you can do most of it via 3d printer.
I should also try a desktop where you can drop the A1200 in and not have to modify anything.

I am looking into "crowdfunding" for my Amiga projects. I considered Kickstarter, but there are probably better options out there.

I'd be very interested in an ATX format A3000T or A4000T style case.

I've found a lovely choice. Some of the cases by Fractal Design.
Here is a link to one of them:

They start from $150. Does anyone know if these are really popular at the moment?
These ones are nice:

It is really a retro design.

Never cared for the layout in the Fractal Designs cases, personally. Used one in a build recently and if the one case fan goes bad you'd have to effectively gut the entire machine to get at the fan to replace it. Tearing a MB and drives out to replace a fan is just silly.
That being said, they make one heck of a cleanly styled case. My favorite case of all time is still the Coolermaster Cosmos, the original one. Got a couple of them and just love them, but they are a massive case.
Getting one of the In Win D cases in for my next build, which will be all watercooled and heavily modded. Looking forward to working with one of those.

If you're going to base it on an existing case it is probably best to start with one that has a removable motherboard tray. It will be easier for test fitting, making mock-up templates for the back panel and expansion card brackets as well as final assembly once you have your sheet metal back panel done.

I personally think a Mac Mini type case is the way to go.
I also think a AmigaOne with a built in graphics card is the way to go for future Amigas. At least to get the Amiga Ball rolling. And of course fanless!

What fractal design case do you have to gut to get the fan out?
Never had the original Cosmos, but I have the Cosmos two and it's HUGE :) The ATX motherboard looks tiny inside it ^^
Here is the inside of the roomy Cosmos II

Not to bad looking case in my opinion :)

One has to be careful some case designs are copyrighted and trademark. You are right I almost wanted to buy mac mini because of how small it is. I don't know how well they could redesign the motherboard.

If you wanted something like the original cases the price would be too high.
As an alternative someone might make add-on parts from a 3-D printer?
@som99
That is an impressive case. Styled like a V-8
