Good Day,
I have a CyberStormIII in my A4000T, Can I Use a SATA HD on the SCSI3 controller directly with a converter? Or do I have to from scsi to ide then from ide to sata? AmigaKit, ideas very welcome. Thanks in advance.

There are 68-pin SCSI to SATA adapters out there. There is no need to go through IDE as an intermediate. I have no experience with the 68-pin variety so I can't advise you as to which will work best. I do have a 50-pin (narrow) SCSI to SATA adapter running an SSD in an old Sparc-20 clone and it works very well.

Thanks,
Is there any speed penalty, better or just the same?

Yes, the conversion causes a small loss in speed from about 35 MB/s to 32 MB/s vs a U320 15,000 RPM UWSCSI HDD.

LOL. Either way I suspect still much faster than the SCSI on the CyberStormIII can handle. ;)

FWIW, Vesalia sells the ACard 7730A. http://www.vesalia.de/e_acardsata.htm
The ACard stuff is top-notch, and I would assume they've tested it. I have a 7730AS running a DVD drive attached to my MKIII. Note, the AS and A are different: the AS will run optical drives, only.
EDIT: Correction, the AS is a different series, but the same holds true. I have a 7732 which is ODD, only. In any case, I have not used a hard drive with the ACard on an Amiga.

I just checked that out, $205 CAD! Wowsers!
This AztecMonster II SATA/SSD to SCSI Converter costs $100 less:

If anyone buys the AztecMonster, please post on here your results! ;-)
There's a thread here on Amiga.org regarding the AztecMonster SCSI CF card reader:

I don't know the CyberStormIII - I have the CyberStormPPC.
But the UW-SCSI host addapter on my CSPPC can handle up to 40 mB/s.
